Support of Trump, and supporting Obstruction of Justice into the investigation of him.JoeMemphis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 5:39 pm I pointed this out earlier in this thread:
Funny thing. You and Drak bleat on and on about the “insurrection” comparing it to 911 or Pearl Harbor or the Civil War. But on Jan 6, 2023, the second anniversary of this momentous event, not a peep about it from you or anyone on this board. Not one. It’s just a talking point for you. That’s all. Manufactured outrage.
Not a peep from either one of those guys about the “coup” on Jan 6. They accuse you and I of supporting something they can’t remember. It’s nothing but a talking point to them. They forgot about it just like they forgot about the numerous other riots that happened the previous summer.

Re: Health Care Reform
Prove it. One post where I objected to a single investigation. You are the one complaining and whining about investigations. You are the one obstructing. Wonder what it is you are afraid of. You sure are defensive about something.

There is no obstruction in the new house sub committee you are just repeating what Bernie Sanders tells you to believe.

Re: Health Care Reform
The Chair of the Committee is a suspect in the case.
And I don't talk to Bernie Sanders. Don't even follow him.
But I guess you're losing so you're lashing out, just like Joe.

And I don't listen to or follow Trump so hiw about you quit your bullshit

So anyone who doesn’t agree with you is a traitor? Is that your theory?
You crack me up. You’re scared of your party being investigated. You’re practically shitting yourself.

No, you agree with a House ran by nutjobs. You think that someone who is a suspect in an investigation should be able to go after the DOJ.JoeMemphis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 6:05 pm So anyone who doesn’t agree with you is a traitor? Is that your theory?

Oh, wait, you think Jan 6th wasn't real, and there's nothing to investigate. I forgot.
And why shouldn't the Speaker of the House demand that George Santos resign?

Why won't McCarthy?

This group of politicians is no more and certainly no less objective than the last group of politicians that ran the committee last year. You weren’t whining and complaining back then. Now you are.
Explain how oversight investigations into the current administration is obstruction of Justice. These aren’t criminal investigations after all. The DOJ handles criminal investigations. These are oversight investigations that haven’t had the first hearing or called the first witness.
Here’s the deal, if as you claim there isn’t anything there you have nothing to worry about. That isn’t obstruction except to someone who has no idea what criminal obstruction is.
But you continue to hurl allegations even when they make no sense. Most of what you claim makes no sense and more often than not, is just plain wrong.
Re: Health Care Reform
This is the proof that you were always lying when you pretended to be a reasonable, thinking moderate. The House is being ran but a bunch of crazy nutjobs. When the leading Congresspeople are saying that Biden needs to be impeached over the documents he immediately turned back over when found, things are out of whack.
What the Speaker of the House says that he won't seek to remove George Santos from office or even ask him to resign "because the voters decided. They elected him to serve" - yet the next two years they are going to work to remove Joe Biden from office. Well, sounds like a double standard to me - didn't the voters elect Biden to serve?
But you're lying and pretending this is all business as usual. You're as nutty as they are.
Re: Health Care Reform
Tell you what, you get rid of the double standards you have personally and all the double standards in your party and then you can lecture the rest of the world. Until then you are just whining about getting treated the same as you treat others. That’s called hypocrisy. Your world is full of double standards. You don’t know what true standards are and wouldn’t recognize them if you saw them.gounion wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 7:14 am This is the proof that you were always lying when you pretended to be a reasonable, thinking moderate. How would YOU handle health care?
And are you supportive of your party voting to end the IRS and income taxes and instead go to a thirty percent national sales tax? Yes or no? Because that's what you voted for.
Re: Health Care Reform
Good friend has ACA but is closing in on Medicare. She’s happy with ACA but can’t keep it when she’s Medicare eligible. She suggested we disband Medicare and use medicare funds/taxes to provide ACA for 65 and above.

As far as Medicare and health care, I have offered my opinion on those items numerous times. My opinion hasn’t changed. You ignored and dismissed them the first 50 to 100 times we talked about it so I’m not going to waste time repeating what you will only ignore and not remember in an hour.
I support the movement to quash adding 83000 to the IRS headcount. Tax filing has been greatly automated. I see no reason to double the size of the IRS. Leverage that effort in technology like everybody else.
I have no issue discussing alternative tax policies. I haven’t heard anything like a detailed costed proposal put on the table to discuss. So as far as I’m concerned there isn’t a proposal to support at the moment. Debate and discussion of alternatives is a good thing. Doesn’t mean you have to adopt every proposal.
Re: Health Care Reform
Let us enumerate your gross hypocrisy.

Your side doesn't WANT to discuss, they just want to vote on it immediately. If they wanted discussion and debate, they would have talked about it publicly and sent it to a Committee for debate. True. I did want split government. The fact that you are soooo butthurt over the fact that the government isn’t being driven solely by your team means that was the right position. You don’t want or care for anyone else’s point of view but your own. That’s democracy. As for health care, I have made proposals in the past only to have you ignore them in the same thread in which I offered them. So I’m not going to keep repeating what I said before and which you repeatedly ignored. If someone else wants to have a serious discussion on health care, I’m open to that.
