Nothing like that at all and it was the democratic party keeping blacks from team sports.
This is another one of those topics where liberals have to cast out common sense. Of course a person born male and transitioned in most cases would have a decided advantage.
Which is why the NCAA has changed the rules making it virtually impossible for a transgender athlete to compete.
Let me add I completely agree it is a ridiculous thing for congress to get involved in.
Sigh. Glen, you should know better. That wasn’t the Democratic Party of today. That was conservatives who sided with slave owners. Why were there Republicans who supported the Civil Rights act besides, iirc, Goldwater, and fewer Democrats? It wasn’t Democrat vs Republican. It was liberal vs conservative.
Then Nixon latched onto the Southern strategy to pick up conservatives in the South pissed off due to the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. Conservatives in the South moved into the Republican Party because the racism of Nixon et al welcomed them with open arms.
So, the so-called Party of Lincoln which is used to stake a claim which no longer exists abandoned the Black man as Reconstruction collapsed. Monied Republican interests in the North wanted to resume economic relations with Conservative Democratic wealth and property owners in the South. Jim Crow might never have existed had conservatives not been allowed to dictate policy due to a series of weak presidents and shoddy congresspeople.
I would suggest reading Jeremi Suri’s Civil War by Other Means but I know you won’t bother.
Finally, what, exactly, is the process for transgender? What hormonal treatments are involved? What impact do those treatment have on muscle mass? What is the percentage of transgender people involved in NCAA athletics?
