This is huge. It's the result of a 2-year undercover investigation with wires and a sting. A recruiter at U$C took a $13,000 bribe in an envelope of cash that he was going to take to the basketball coach. (BTW, U$C was paying this guy $300k/yr to recruit players. Was. He's been canned, given that a Federal indictment does not enhance your credibility with families of prospects. Among other problems. I'm hoping he rolls over and sings like Edith Piaf.)

Louisville is also implicated, as are reps of Adidas and some other corporation, and several agents wanting to become billionaires. Big bribes were given families to get players signed at schools with commercial deals. Etc..

Methinks we're going to see dominoes fall here, and a real big juicy scandal for college sports, which deserve it.

It's obvious that big time college sports are completely corrupt, and the system needs a full rethink. There's no way to make it perform up to the expectations of the fans by staying true to the student-athlete concept. Like everything else, it's become a huge, profit making enterprise, but unlike everything else, it still has to pretend it hasn't.
