New name for Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with United Airlines deal that is largest in college sports

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a city landmark and historic venue for both sports and music, will become the United Airlines Memorial Coliseum in a $69 million deal struck between the airline and the coliseum’s operator, the University of Southern California, according to people familiar with the agreement.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was planned as a memorial to honor L.A. veterans of WWI and rededicated in 1968 to honor all veterans of WWI. So now it's a memorial to United Airlines?

Sick, sick, sick.

Location: The blue parts of the map
U$C, U$C, U$C.

The Coliseum is in a state park next to the $C campus. It was run by a commission, but the commission kept messing up and getting busted for corruption, and they finally just turned it over to U$C to run. It's been getting less memorial and more commercial ever since.

Too bad, because there were two Olympics there, and the place has a lot of history.
