 It's the "Davids" against the "Goliath". Basketball powerhouse North Carolina, the only No. 1 seed to survive the NCAA tournament is going up against three "newbies", Two, in South Carolina and Gonzaga have never been to a Final Four and Oregon which hasn't been to a Final Four since 1939. Sports experts have compared the No. 7 South Carolina Gamecocks to the No. 7 UConn Huskies who won the 2014 NCAA National Championship. They according to ESPN have almost identical stats, aside from being the same number seed. Both teams are really good at the defense and they can shoot too. South Carolina beat Florida, who I was rooting for since I live in Florida right now, but my heart will always belong to Connecticut. Yet I would like to see one of the "Davids" win this thing.

Two #1 seeds, a #3 and a #7 in the final four with no clear favorite in the mix. Should be a fantastic couple days of basketball. One of the first basketball games I remember watching with my dad was Georgetown vs. North Carolina in 1982. Been a Tarheel fan ever since.

History lesson - there were only 48 teams playing in the tournament back then.

Ever since UCLA ignominiously went down to KY, the bracket has been, pardon the expression, of academic importance here.

I was going with Ducks after they knocked Michigan out. Plus my son lives in Eugene. Would have been good for city and state.

 It's a Carolina year in the NCAA basketball world. South Carolina wins the NCAAWBB and North Carolina wins the NCAAMBB!! Major upset in Women's basketball in UConn loss to Miss St., but nothing to should be taken away from their 111 straight wins. or the UConn program.
