When the Insurrection occurred on Jan 6 people were shocked. republicans began their gaslighting campaign trying to blame Antifa, then claimed it was no different than normal tourists visiting the capital, they came up with more false claims, and are doing their utmost to slow down or stop the Congressional investigations. It's gotten to the point where all the false claims republicans have been making have gotten most American tuned-out and turned-off to what's going on. With Americans tuned-out/turned-off the republicans are stealthy changing election laws making it harder for people other than republicans to vote, gerrymandering, and changing law making sure if an election doesn't go their way the states they control can change the outcome of the election to their candidates.
Don't doubt for a minute the republicans don't know what they're doing. The longer they can keep people from paying attention to what they're doing the more they'll continue doing it.
