Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) Twitter rant yesterday against Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, a segment on OAN took his unfounded and misleading attacks against her record in a more deranged direction. The host and her guest falsely accused Jackson of being “kind” to pedophiles, echoing the long-running QAnon conspiracy theory accusing liberal elites of engaging in pedophilia.

A reminder: playing into this "qualifications" canard perpetuates white supremacist standards regarding Black, Latino, and Native American job candidates.

Give it a couple minutes and it also applies to Jewish and Asian candidates.

Griswold v Connecticut is about personal privacy from the government in sexuality and reproduction. The goal is to get the government back into the bedroom and the doctor's office. Their anti-trans kid laws that criminalize any parent who supports their own children is a part of this.

White conservative women OTOH are often even worse and even more lethal than white conservative males, because they have something to prove. The entire machinery of US segregationism was predicated on protecting these vicious karens from Black men raping them.

Unqualified describes ACB, Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas. The other cons are qualified, just horrible people.

It's not a list of her qualifications but it's a summary of her education and career much like you'd find on a resume. The only qualification needed to be a Supreme Court Justice, according to the Constitution, is they have to be trained in the law.

I'm not aware of any accusers? Are you? Whether all of Kavanaugh's accusers (there was more than one) were all lying is possible, but let's note they existed. It's not like the accusation came out of thin air.

BTW, I still believe that it was later established that Anita Hill absolutely was telling the truth about Clarence Thomas. (And, I remind, there were other accusers - of harassment, not rape - against him.)

Weren’t both Kavanaugh and Barrett both questioned on their qualifications? Aren’t these hearings mor or less job interviews. Is it improper to question any judicial nominees on their qualifications and judicial philosophy?

I’ve been listening to the hearings and Inthink the nominee is handling herself quite well. I personally haven’t heard anything this far that would or should disqualify her. This far the hearings have been respectful.

My problem with the Kavanaugh hearing was how it was handled. The accusations would have been investigated and should have been investigated prior to the hearing in the normal course of business were it not for the fact that Sen Feinstein choose to withhold that information from the committee. If people are upset with the result then they should take that up with Sen Feinstein.
