Good move by the committee, if it's true. They need to maintain a media presence when the money class that owns the media will be trying everything to keep it about the supposedly stirring spiritual victory of anti-feminism.

Yeah, but you and I both know the power of theater. Completely blindsiding them with a bombshell that they weren't able to prepare for would be VERY powerful indeed!

When I was doing PR (seems so long ago now... ), I always loved to be able to drop a bombshell on my opponent that they weren't looking for or prepared for!

Did the doc crew get trump and others openly cheering on the attack of Jan 6? Hope so.

They did just get access to the movie's outtakes, and then of course the thing with outs is that they're unedited, so it takes forever to look at them, especially in a documentary where there's no scripted dialog. They're basically dailies by any other name, and screening dailies on a doc is torture. I had to do it once, but fortunately I was being paid by the day.

With any luck someone logged them and did as good a job as I tried to do, so maybe there are shot lists, precise timings, and snippets of dialog to speed up the process.

Hopefully their people found some gold amid the gravel and wet dirt.

We're just going to have to wait and find out tomorrow.

The irony is that documentary was one of the rare ones Trump & fam voluntarily opted for participation in - amazingly, though the filmmakers were given access, they ALSO managed to pretty much ask for little restriction or control by the fam. This helped them get certain juicy things. I don't think they were "out to get" the fam ... I don't think they were trying to make a sympathetic doc, but it wasn't the opposite either. They just happened to be in the right place at the right time ... or maybe for the Drumpf fam, the wrong.

Nixon was undone by a taping system he put in the WH for what he believed would help in his own legal and other protection.

History is funny that way.

I doubt they'd have gotten full access had the drumpf family and inner circle not trusted the makers to deliver a product that would benefit them. It was for one of the big streamers, so I doubt the intent was ever to make waves. That's why I'm thinking that quite a bit of their dailies is probably idle chatter or some interviewer lobbing softballs.

But we'll just have to see. The thing with people who believe their own rhetoric is that they often get overconfident and spill things.

Two former Trump White House aides are accusing a top Secret Service official and key defender of the then-president's actions during the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection of being a political loyalist with a history of lying.

Former aides Olivia Troye and Alyssa Farah Griffin have criticized the Secret Service official, Anthony Ornato, amid reports he is disputing that an angry Donald Trump grabbed the steering wheel of his presidential SUV limousine and lunged at a Secret Service agent in the front seat that day. Those explosive allegations were leveled last week by another ex-Trump aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, before the Select Committee investigating the Capitol attack.

Hutchinson testified that Trump wanted to join thousands of his followers who marched up to the Capitol after a speech he gave near the White House, and that he became "irate" after his Secret Service detail told him he had to be driven back to the White House for security reasons. On the way back, Hutchinson testified, the president physically accosted an agent and tried to turn the limo toward the Capitol, according to what Ornato told her immediately after the incident.

At the time, Ornato was the White House deputy chief of staff in charge of operations. Trump had personally appointed Ornato to that position in December 2019, an apparent first for a Secret Service official, because of his loyalty to the President. A 25-year veteran of the Secret Service, Ornato is now back at the agency as its assistant director in charge of the Office of Training.
