Congressional panel votes to release Trump’s tax returns to public

Post by Bludogdem »

“ A House panel voted along party lines Tuesday to release former President Trump's tax returns, an unprecedented move that marks the culmination of a years-long legal battle to disclose his financial records.”

“ Some legal experts questioned whether the House Ways and Means Committee has adequate legal justification to release the information to the public. Democrats argued in court that their interest in seeing Trump's taxes was based on the need to craft legislation and that they would not simply release confidential information to the public.”

This is bad form, very bad form.

The only bad form you’re worried about is from Dems. No big deal when the GOP commits crimes daily, up to and including insurrection.

Super cut of all the times that Trump promised to release his taxes.

Seems to me to be poetic justice.

Better than leaking them. But as we all know that was their plan all along.
Requesting them was nothing more than a political ploy.
Just remember now that they have let the genie out of the bottle no complaints when Republicans do the same

Defending Trump again I see.

There is no Genie - candidates typically release their taxes.

Trump was supposed to release his taxes before he took office. He lied and said he was under audit. Then he pulled the plug on a mandatory audit when he was in the WH. He’s a fraudster and a criminal. And a seditionist who attempted a coup. But republicans sure love their criming.

Keep crying.

If a Democrat does all that Trump did, I'd be with them to do so. But only Republican Presidential candidates refuse to show their taxes.

But let's be clear: How many times did Trump promise to release his taxes? Hmmmm?

Many times but once again the lefts hatred for Republicans in general and Trump in particular has clouded what little common sense they have.
So now the democratic party has set a precedent that it is ok to release a person's tax return to the public.
Again no complaints when the Republicans do the same.

Oh? We don't have common sense?

What party gave us Donald Trump?

And no, this has nothing to do with anyone who wasn't President.

But you always come to the defense of pooooor Donald, don't you?

Al Capone says hi.

Common sense? The leader of your party is Donald Trump. Not a surprise you defend him considering you brag about committing fraud on your resume and probably lie on your own taxes.

Keep on defending traitors and criminals.

Yes, Glenn, it is.

Are you telling me that the conservative-heavy Supreme Court said that anyone's taxes could be released to the public? Of course they didn't.

But that's what Donald Trump told you, and you believe it.

I find it hilarious that the argument is, “so now we’re going to release your candidate’s taxes and expose his or her potential cons and crimes!”

So? Bring it.

I have no interest in trump.
Didn’t vote for him didn’t want him.
And, he’s done.

This is about principle and rights.

When you tell the court “ Democrats argued in court that their interest in seeing Trump's taxes was based on the need to craft legislation and that they would not simply release confidential information to the public” and then unanimously decide to release that confidential information to the world you’ve abandoned principle. They’ve tainted the party. They showed their ass.

Rights

“ The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things ...”

The committee was a huge disappointment.

You're only worried about Trump. When Republicans release the taxes of citizens, it's just fine with you.

Bullshit you didn’t vote for Trump. Everything about you is a lie. You have zero credibility.

Trump was supposed to release his taxes years ago as a candidate and never did. He lied he was under audit. Then he made it so the IRS couldn’t audit him his first two years in office.

The ultra conservative Supreme Court ruled on handing Trumps taxes over. Keep crying.

Of course it's about Trump. It's always about Trump when you defend him.

So now the GOP is threatening the Dems with release of taxes.

I say let's have it. Go ahead. I'd suggest legislation that every candidate for federal office, and nominees for federal courts, release the previous four years of tax returns. Every damned one.

It won't bother the Dems at all. It's YOUR side that will be screaming. Hell, if that were the law, then we wouldn't have had Trump, and you'd have had to find another candidate instead of Romney.

I see no downside. I prefer transparency.

It’s pretty telling that the only “empathy” these guys have is for their leaders being exposed for potential fraud and crimes. Wonder why that is…

Of course he lied. That’s his standard go to. It’s what he does.

That’s not a defense for the committee lying to the court. So now the committee is mud wrestling with trump. They showed their ass.

Cry more. The SC ruled to hand the taxes over. You know, the SC owned by federalist judges.
