Rodgers violated the covid protocol he should get suspended but probably will only get fined.
If the packers managment knew he wasn't vaccinated they will probably have to forfeit a 4th round draft pick.
The sad thing is if the game would have had to be canceled and forfeited no player on either team would have gotten paid.
Average pay is around $120,000 a game

Why the fuck are these idiots doing this? You get paid millions of dollars, the reason you want to play is the chance - a good one right now - to win another Super Bowl. So you’ve put the season in jeopardy - they will likely make the playoffs, but you want that home field advantage - and not giving 100% toward that goal is insanity. And he’s hurt that. To me, it’s holding your fans in contempt. For what you get paid, you should do EVERYTHING it takes to make it through the season.

I was listening to Shannon Sharpe today and I believe he said it best.
A guy like Kyrie Irving you can disagree with but respect. He is refusing the vaccine is open and honest about it and it is costing him millions.
A guy like Rodgers who indicated ie lied about being vaccinated deserves no respect and should be punished for putting others at risk, especially financial risk.
The NFL has a protocol for players who don't want to get vaccinated. Rodgers didn't follow that protocol he should be suspended a minimum of 3 games.
If he were a backup linebacker he would be cut. But, because he is a star player he will probably only get fined and miss maybe two game checks while he is waiting to be cleared.

Sidebar
If a player is vaccinated and tests positive they can come back as soon as they pass 2 covid tests.
If a player isn't vaccinated they have to quarantine for 10 days then pass 2 tests

I wonder if people like gounion who had tickets for the game could sue Rogers, the Packers, or both if the game was cancelled for the costs associated with going to the game. If people flew in to Kansas City, or whatever city the Packers were to play in when they forfeited the game, only to find out the game's cancelled because Rogers and/or the Packer violated the NFL COVID-19 protocols would they have a legitimate case for a lawsuit?

Who knows. I'm sure the fine print won't allow for that. But for those who really want to see Green Bay win another Super Bowl, it's a dick move. If you don't want to put 100% towards those goals, you should just go drive a truck.

Wonder how many "Rodgers Rate" commercials we'll see this weekend?

HAVING SAID THAT - for personal reasons unrelated to Rodger's actions, my wife and I have decided to not go to the game. I will be getting rid of my tickets.

Rodgers spoke today. Looks like he might be ready to play the game on the 14th.

Yep, he's a great football quarterback, but certainly proves that expertise in one area does not mean he's expert anywhere else.

But he's sure good at playing the victim:
"I realize I'm in the crosshairs of the woke mob right now," Rodgers said. "So, before my final nail gets put in my cancel culture casket, I think I would like to set the record straight on so many of the blatant lies that are out there about myself."
Rodgers said the media was on a "witch hunt" to find out which players were vaccinated and blamed reporters for him saying he was "immunized" back in August.

While talking with McAfee on his SiriusXM show, the three-time MVP repeated some Covid-19 misconceptions and said he has conferred with podcast host Joe Rogan on how to deal with a coronavirus infection.
Wait, what?
Rodgers said he consulted with podcast host Joe Rogan and took his advice on how he treated his own Covid-19.
"I consulted with a now good friend of mine, Joe Rogan, after he got Covid, and I've a lot of the stuff he recommended in his podcast and on the phone to me," Rodgers said.
Great. Even Joe Rogan said not to listen to Joe Rogan on COVID.

Rodgers is a entitled rich white guy who tries to use Martin Luther King Jr. to defend himself. Jerk.

As to sharing his wealth, it's about the situation. I read a while back that movie director Quentin Tarantino refused to give his mother one cent of his wealth, as she avidly worked to crush his dreams of a film career when he was young. I thought it was apt. Can't blame him.

Hyenas at Denver Zoo test positive for COVID-19

Two hyenas at the Denver Zoo have tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first case in the animal worldwide.

The hyenas were tested after several lions at the zoo became sick, according to The Associated Press. The hyena samples first tested positive at a Colorado State University lab and were then confirmed by the national lab.

This narrative seems well thought out to me. It seems to describe the full array of factors with the interrelated complexity. It explains what I see.

:|

California’s COVID-19 case rate now twice Florida’s — what’s up with that?
The Golden State’s cases are projected to rise into January

https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/11/06/ ... with-that/
A month ago the coronavirus seemed headed for a long winter’s nap in masked and well-vaccinated California. Gov. Gavin Newsom boasted that the Golden State “continues to lead the nation” as the only state to reach the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s yellow “moderate” tier of community virus transmission.

But COVID-19 cases aren’t falling in California anymore. They have climbed back up to the CDC’s blood-red “high” level of virus transmission as the highly contagious Delta variant continues to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, the virus has gone quiet in Deep South states that abandoned mask orders, opposed vaccine mandates, posted lower vaccination rates and saw larger outbreaks over the summer. California’s case rate is now well above Texas’ and double Florida’s, which along with the rest of the Gulf Coast are down to the CDC’s orange “substantial” transmission level.
My county didn't run with the trend for California this summer, we got hammered like Florida and Texas did. Now we're improving somewhat but the infection levels are still real high. The rest of the state is catching up with us rather than having our infection rate going down. We had smoke driving us indoors instead of high or low outdoor temperatures. That's why timing wise things for us have gone south a third way, that way being an especially hard row to hoe.

:(

That National Christmas tree coming to town drawing a big crowd didn't help.

Fox Sports slams Rodgers:
Jimmy Johnson began the criticizing when he said he was “disappointed” with Rodgers’ “play on words” concerning his explanation about the entire situation. “I am disappointed in some of his selfish actions,” Johnson said.

Howie Long noted that he agreed with Rodgers’ stance on medical privacy — but within reason. “But it ceases to be a personal decision when you take part in being a part of a football team in a building with coaches, players, trainers … and you run the risk of taking something home to your wife, children, grandchildren,” Long said. He added that Green Bay has a great record at 7-1 and Rodgers not playing could impact their success. “Putting all that in jeopardy and possibly putting your teammates in jeopardy, to me, is selfish,” Long said.

Terry Bradshaw was, by far, the harshest, mocking the Rodgers’ usage of the “cattle dewormer” ivermectin.

“It would’ve been nice if he could’ve come to the Naval Academy and learn how to be honest, learned not to lie,” Bradshaw said, noting the crew’s location. “Because that’s what you did, Aaron. You lied to everyone.” Added Bradshaw, “Unfortunately, we’ve got players that pretty much think only about themselves and I’m extremely disappointed in the actions of Aaron Rodgers.”

Michael Strahan criticized Rodgers’ use of a Martin Luther King Jr. quote during the Friday interview. “There are times to quote Martin Luther King, and this was not one of them as well,” Strahan said.
Rodgers #2 and Packer #1 draft pick Jordan Love is doing okay but not outstanding so far. What would be hilarious and just desserts for Rodgers would be if this became a breakout game for future superstar Love. Doesn't look like it's in the cards, but still it's what Rodgers deserves.

I was right, there weren't many Rodgers commercials on:
Aaron Rodgers has been prominently featured in State Farm's television ads for about a decade. This past weekend, he was almost nowhere to be found.

The number of State Farm spots featuring the Green Bay Packers quarterback drastically decreased this weekend, following the revelation Rodgers is not vaccinated against Covid-19 and has apparently been bypassing NFL protocols for unvaccinated players. Rodgers recently contracted Covid and missed his team's game Sunday.

Rodgers was featured in just 1.5% of the nearly 400 State Farm ads on TV on Sunday, according to data from Apex Marketing, which tracks national ad buying. That's a massive decrease compared to the two previous Sundays, during which the insurance company featured Rodgers in about a quarter of its ads.

"Our monitoring indicates that this wasn't a planned reduction and more reactionary because there wasn't any new significant ads put in its place," said Apex president Eric Smallwood in a statement. Action Network first reported the news.
That is always the danger in hitching your wagon to a celebrity spokesperson. They can always go Jared on you.

I got my Moderna booster shot late this morning. Our local hospital had appointments and walk-ins available. I drove by the hospital looking for a parking space and they were all filled. I ended up parking about a quarter of a mile away and walking to the site. It was outdoors and they had two large canopies; one for registering and shots and the other for people to wait 15 minutes after receiving their shot.

I did the walk-in and was immediately directed to the registration canopy where three people were registering people. After presenting my driver's license and COVID-19 immunization form they asked me the usual questions concerning how I was feeling, whether I had any previous reactions, etc... After answering in the negative, they had me stand in line for the shot. I waited for less than five minutes and was directed to the nurse administering the shots. She read my information and had me confirm it was correct. She then asked if I was related to Jon and his brother, whose name she couldn't remember so I said Adam? and she said yes. I told her they're my nephews. It turns out her daughter went to school with both of them in the 90s. She then proceeded to give me my shot, in the left arm, and told me to wait in the next canopy for 15 minutes.

As soon as I went to the waiting area, I looked at my online California COVID-19 vaccination record and it was already updated with my booster shot information. All told, it took me about 20 minutes to get my booster shot. So far, no reactions, not even a sore arm. I know the booster is a half-dose and the nurse said the reactions will be less than the first two shots. Still, I'm taking it easy for the rest of the day and will watch some TV and read my current book.

Great News 6. I only had injection site pain for a day and nothing else. After the shot I went home and watched, "Enemy Below" great flick to watch when laid up.

As I said yesterday, I got my Moderna booster shot and wasn’t feeling any side effects. When I went to bed last night it felt like I had a cold coming on. By the time I got under the covers, I had cold shivers and had to get out another blanket and put it on top of the bedspread. I was thinking about getting out my down-filled comforter but I figure I’d be burning up in about 19 minutes. It took me awhile for the cold shivers to disappear and then I was going from feeling cold to hot to cold to hot throughout the night. I didn’t get much sleep and I stayed in bed until about 9 am. I’m feeling almost back to to normal with just a little pain around the eyes like I’ve been out in the sun too long. I’ll continue to take it easy for the rest of the day and take some naps to catch up on the sleep I missed last night.
