Anyone,besides me, done their taxes yet? I started mine using the online H&R Block program at the beginning of the month. After completing it, I set it aside, as I usually do, and I'd review it a couple of days later. Unfortunately, I went into the hospital for vertigo for two days, spent four days with my sister after my release and when I got home, I waited until I was better.
Today, I reviewed my online return and when I originally did it the program said I had no errors. However, today when I opened the program it wanted me to enter more information. Long story short, my original payment for federal and state nearly one-half of what the second review was. I decided to call the local H&R Block office and made an appointment for this afternoon. I had all my paperwork and I met with the preparer. She went through all my paperwork, entered in the appropriate information, and went over every entry on the federal and state return. It turns out, my original amount for both federal/state was nearly $16,000 owed which was nearly $3,000 higher than what her program showed. It cost me $430 for her to prepare the return but even with that it means I saved $2,500 dollars.
