Got the scoop on "Melania"

It's an oligarchy vanity project all the way. Apparently Bezos (think Amazon Studios) owed The Donald one.

General critical reaction is that it's one of the worst movies ever made. It's just Melania mouthing bad lines in a semi-audible voice while going about whatever it is that the super-rich go about. Her only accomplishment is to be even more boring and repellent than anyone else in that overprivileged class that's ever thought the public was waiting with bated breath to see them document their own lives. That's very boring indeed.

The consensus is that she simply can't perform in front of a camera AT ALL. Most people learn enough about camera presence to get through their scenes, sort of, but she's one of the few who just doesn't have the wiring to do it. She's apparently a horror, or maybe a hooter.

Don't waste any more time on the whole damn wretched Trump family than you absolutely have to.

One review was by a critic who, like a lot of critics, saw it during the day when they were on the clock. The review is a classic. Basically, he said that all you have to know was that there were 15 people in the theater (a big one in the general NYC midtown/Times Square area) for the first showing, and at least 11 of them were other critics he knew. He also joined the consensus that says that there is such a thing as not being able to create a camera presence AT ALL.

Sic semper vanity projects. They're not made to capture an audience. They're made to capture favors from the money class.

They don't care about gross box office receipts. The whole $40,000,000 project was most likely part of Bezos buying influence in the White House. These guys have so many gigabucks that dropping $40 mil is essentially part of the promotional budget. They all know that the way to drumpf's heart is through his ego.

The project was pulled some idea by Bezos thinking this was going to thrive a total waste this clown along with her should be in prison.

I can't believe anyone with enough consciousness to keep a studio in business would dump 40 mil on a vanity project if he hadn't owed trump one for whatever reason. It is so obviously a part of the corporate power grab that got him into favor with the potus, but cost his studio a bundle. I guess losing 40 mil for the oligarchy is like us losing a poker game. No biggie.
