Musk did this after a dense storm of Nooz "unconfirmed reports" that other people in Tesla top management thought the whole DOGE chainsaw massacre was hurting their business. The numbers do show that it was.

I think we all now the answer. American companies willingly and voluntarily left because labor costs were less, environmental laws were laxer, and less government regulations. IOWs, companies could pay workers less and not be bothered by unions, they could pollute the land/air/waterways with near impunity, and other countries really don't care how or what you do as long as you hire their citizens and pay (bribe) the government.
When you vote left, you vote right.

They offshored everything they could because shipping costs were less than the cost of paying a living wage to make things in the US. Now places like China are wanting their piece of the pie, and as a consequence, the times they are a-changin'.

About the dumbest thing anyone could do about it is to return to the kind of world trade that caused the Great Depression, but then these are very dumb people running it in DC, thanks to the good voters of America responding to platitudes on media instead of real leadership. The propagandized masses apparently agree that if your parents don't have big money, you must be some kind of loser, so who cares?

ok this sheehy dude..wow, what a piece of work.
and you montanans elected him. ouch. enjoy!!

why are all these males anti abortion. is it about control? of women?...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sheehy

During the campaign, Sheehy said his top three priorities were immigration, education, and the crisis at the U.S. southern border.[35] He said that young women had been "indoctrinated" on the issue of abortion.[36] He called himself "strongly pro-life" and also "in strong support of IVF." He was critical of 2024 Montana Initiative 128, a ballot initiative to establish a right to abortion up to fetal viability in the Montana constitution.[37]

In an August 2023 town hall, Sheehy called for a border wall and blamed China for facilitating fentanyl trafficking.[38]

Sheehy has said, "We have a Department of Education, which I don't think we need anymore." He proposes eliminating the department, which he says will save $30 billion.

How Trump's Bill Makes It Easier For Rich To Buy A Personal Jet
ByDerek Saul, Forbes Staff.
Jul 03, 2025, 03:24pm EDT
Topline

A little-discussed portion of the billionaire President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill" hands a lucrative break to ultrawealthy Americans in the form of a tax policy for private jet purchases.

Bonus depreciation was originally a part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, but phased down from the 100% level beginning in 2023 and was set to permanently expire by 2027, according to Thomson Reuters.
... the policy is often associated with big-ticket luxury items, such as private aircraft, and its institution last decade led to a boom in jet sales.

That means that unlike standard business accounting procedures in which capital investments are spread across multiple years and are never fully written off, the full value of qualified property could be written off year one.

A $10 million plane could now be a $10 million deduction in that same year, noted the aviation industry publication Flying magazine.

“For someone interested in buying a jet, whether new or used, this is a very big deal,” Matthew Bere, managing director of aviation at the Oklahoma-based bank BOK Financial, said this week, saying he expects the megabill’s passage to “spur a lot of activity in aircraft sales.”

Trump further pledged to slash housing costs by ordering his delegates to invest $200 billion in mortgage-backed bonds, which he says will lower mortgage rates and reduce the cost of owning a home.

It's a lot like the 1920s, since these kind of things do run in cycles to a certain extent. The big difference is that the economy has broadened so that a stock market crash can't bring it all down. In fact, the stock market tanks on almost a cyclic basis, but the money is better distributed and so it doesn't bring down the whole system.

Now, keep in mind that the big difference now is that the banking system is under Federal control, and much more immune to business cycles. I get a definite feeling that Trump and his billionaire buddies are trying to change that back to a 1920s situation where the rich do indeed get richer and the poor do indeed get poorer. If this happens, cancel all bets. Put everything into gold coins, and bury them deeply in the back yard.

I've expected the housing market to "correct" for years now. It generally does when the middle class is finally completely priced out of the market, but that happened a few years ago and so far the demand has not changed a bit. It feels like a system that is so far out of equilibrium that the only question regarding a drastic correction (nice word for "crash") is why it's taken so long.

Tell me about it. We're apparently millionaires, or so our accountant tells us. But it's all numbers in memory chips somewhere and we have to pay people who majored in something more practical than movies, so they can tell us where it is and how much it is, and how much of it is taxed to build bigger ball rooms east of the White House and kill innocent bystanders in the street.

Yes, apparently it's all based on mergers, acquisitions, and who has the latest AI. The financial news on TV only talks about Big Data, while meanwhile numbers scroll by, the president starts wars, and the people who fought them get fracked over by the DVA.

Meanwhile we never have enough money. Can't touch capital, that's all that future-proofs the American Way Of Life, whatever that is. It's a very real version of Jean Tangely's self-destroying America Machine that was all over the Nooz when he turned it on in MOMA's fabled patio, and it wouldn't even destroy itself right.

Meanwhile, inflation has rendered the whole game something of a rigged casino. Odds greatly favor the house.

One gets the idea that the kid who dies with the best numbers wins, but they're dead and won't notice.
