Funny thing about that....

NFL star Brown joined the Buccaneers in 2020 after spells at the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders, and New England Patriots.

While at the Raiders, the footballer was not allowed to wear the same helmet that he had worn for the nine previous seasons.

In August 2019, he tweeted: “I’m looking for a Schutt Air Advantage Adult Large Helmet that was manufactured in 2010 or after. In exchange, I will trade a signed practice won Raiders helmet.”

Drew Rosenhaus, the player's agent at the time, said the athlete had sported the same kind of helmet throughout his footballing career – from pee-wee to college football in Michigan.

But, manufacturers of the Air Advantage helmet discontinued the gear after 2014 as “helmet technology had moved past it”, according to Sporting News.

Brown’s Schutt Air Advantage helmet was not on the list of 11 types of the headwear that are reportedly the best to mitigate "head impact severity".

Brown left the field because he was upset at being put in the game in non passing situations. He was very close to receiving a large bonus.
He simply wanted to catch passes not block or be a decoy. Given his history he deserves mo benefit of the doubt

Cut from Pittsburg because of attitude
Cut from Las Vegas because of attitude
Cut from New England because of attitude
Cut from Tampa because of attitude

His story checks out more than the coach's story. He has authentic texts that he told the coach he was injured. They coach says he didn't hear of any injuries.

“ Antonio Brown Wanted $2M In Contract Incentives Just Days Before Outburst, Team Tried To Help His Mental Health”

“ The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Antonio Brown on Thursday, but new information suggests things were headed in the wrong direction when concerns about the guarantees in his contract apparently came up before his ordeal during the team’s game against the New York Jets.

Brown signed a one-year, $3.1 million contract, which included a more than $916,000 in base salary, a $2 million signing bonus and more than $370,000 in a roster bonus, according to Spotrac. He also had some statistical benchmarks to hit in which he could gain more incentives.”

“ The now-former Buccaneers receiver is said to have requested the remaining $2 million worth of incentives in his contract for 2021 be guaranteed, according to Tampa Bay GM Jason Licht. The team declined Brown and his agent’s ask. Brown was eight catches shy of unlocking one bonus and needed 55 receiving yards to secure another. The 33-year-old receiver was one receiving touchdown short for the third bonus.

On top of that, the team took some time to release him because they were actively trying to get him help for his mental health.

“Let’s talk about Antonio Brown and when this started,” Rapoport said. “It did not start on Sunday. It started in the middle of last week when Brown and his agent went to the Buccaneers and asked them to fully guarantee his $1M in incentives. He was close to getting it, but went to them and said ‘can you guarantee this?’ That’s not really something teams do, but that’s why some of the frustrations started then.”

“ According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Buccaneers sources revealed that Brown was agitated about not getting the targets that he was expecting during the game against the New York Jets. He allegedly had to be calmed down at halftime before Tampa Bay took the field again for the third quarter.”

IF they were concerned with his mental health, they would not have cut him because of his outburst. I’ve had to deal with employees with issues; that’s NOT what you do. You wait till they’ve calmed down to deal with them.

But instead it was “fuck you, I’m the boss, you’re fired” and now they’re trying to cover it up.

They could have cut him immediately. But then they were worried that he’d go to another team. It’s all about control.

Funny that.....

https://www.yahoo.com/news/tom-brady-re ... 52078.html
Tom Brady refused to leave game until he helped Rob Gronkowski earn a $500,000 bonus
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski added another chapter to their legacy when the 44-year-old quarterback helped his tight end's bank account.

In the fourth quarter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Week 18 win over the Carolina Panthers, cameras caught Brady on the sidelines grabbing his helmet and appearing to tell members of the team that he wasn't leaving the game.

As Tony Romo speculated on the broadcast, it appeared Brady was trying to help Gronkowski reach 55 receptions on the season, which triggered a $500,000 bonus.

Moments later, Brady hit Gronkowski with a short pass on the sideline for seven yards, his 55th of the season, triggering the bonus.

I’m sure his contract providers for a means to resolve disputes. That probably involves an investigation and arbitration or mediation. So we will see what comes of that.

The NFLPA is already involved. That's the reason the team was forced to go ahead and cut him.

Good thing they have a union, isn't it?

“ Antonio Brown’s brother, Desmond Brown, is now speaking out after his NFL wide receiver brother had a major outburst and bizarre ordeal during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ comeback win against the New York Jets.

Antonio Brown made “a real selfish move to leave [in the] middle of the game like that though,” Desmond Brown told the outlet. The ex-Pitt player added “there’s no honor in quitting.”

He also wondered “maybe something happened in the locker room” prior to kickoff.

The former college football player talked with the Daily Caller and not only blasted his brother for his behavior, but theorized the Buccaneers wide receiver came to the conclusion he wasn’t going to reach the incentivized bonuses for hitting certain milestones in his contract and decided to leave the game in dramatic fashion.”

“He wanted to get those incentives and realized it wasn’t going to happen.”

Looks like the brother is making some bucks himself, selling a story. Whether it's true or not remains to be seen.
