When do you think the bast year to have been born

Post by Glennfs »

I personally believe if you are a white male it would have been 1935
You would miss both WWII and Korea but been 20 in 1955 when the best jobs were available.
If you are a minority I believe 1990 you would be about 32 today and in your majority in the greatest nation in the history of man. At a time when there was never more opportunities and equality for minorities.

The Bast year to be born? Like the Egyptian goddess Bast? :D

What is the "best job"? In 1955, you could not have been a virtual reality designer. Or some things you could do today. If you're pointing out unionization levels and job security were better back then ... well ... yeah.

As for that nonsense in bold, I have no idea why you keep throwing out that ridiculous phrase, except to troll. I often tell people I rarely meet people who actually believe in American Exceptionalism, but then, I guess, there's you.

Things for minorities in 2022 may be better than 1955, but IMHO I agree with MLK's son and many others, there's still plenty of journey till the dream is close to reality.

Cons who do nothing but harm the country can sit back and claim they support her by repeating that phrase, like when we were in grade school and some kid kept saying his dad was better than yours, that kind of childish garbage. Look how old the people are who are saying this, they have not grown.
I sigh in your general direction.

Nice of Glenn to Whitesplain to blacks as to how good they have it!

And as far as "greatest country in history" - Glenn, how many other countries have you been to?

I do love my country. But I don't believe in Jingoism.

If he is like most cons, none, maybe Canada or Mexico. Regardless of where THIS con has been, most fall into that category.

Some places consider US to be the "shithole" now. And the ONLY reason they think this is we elected trump.
I sigh in your general direction.

IMHO, Glenn wanted to pick some soft topic to discuss. Looks like it won't work.

The South of 1940's/1950's/1960's, African-Americans were routinely arreted and jailed with no cause. Black Men, Women and Children were shot and killed and the White's that did it, well they just walked away. Women were treated as chattle. Treated as sex objects and subject open and notrious sexual abuse and sexual assault. White Men ruled America, that is why Glenn likes it.

The best year to be born in America if you vote for the GOP is never. If you care about the human race, that is.

The reason glenn continues to use :greatest nation in the history of man" is because if you disagree with him then, like all cons do, he'll claim you hate this country. It's akin to someone who metaphorically wraps themselves in the American flag setting up what they say to be factual and if you disagree with them then you're a communist , a socialist, or a person who hates America.

French believe they live in the greatest country.

Russian believe they live in the greatest country.

This crap about America being the best is crap. Voter suppression. Violence in the streets. Open Insurrection. People wanting assassinate Dr. Faucci. People wanting to hang Mike Pence.

You sure as shit have a twisted sense of great.
