Biden Gracefully Guts FOX News Hack Peter Doocy Who Asks Yet Another Ridiculous Question

On the occasion of President Biden's one year anniversary in the White House, he held a press conference to answer the many questions that the media has about the important issues of the day. Unfortunately, some members of the press corps don't take this as seriously as it deserves.

The press conference lasted a couple of hours as Biden sought to give everyone an opportunity to have their questions answered. However, some of the right-wing rabble grew impatient because they were so anxious to hear from Peter Doocy of Fox News. So they took to Twitter to complain that Biden was dodging him before the event was even over:

Rep. Lauren Boebert Asked A Group Of Jewish Capitol Visitors If They Were Doing "Reconnaissance"
The Colorado Republican left the visitors “confused” after a short encounter.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ka ... ce-capitol

Rep. Lauren Boebert left a group of Jewish visitors to the Capitol bewildered Thursday morning when she asked them if they were doing "reconnaissance" after seeing them at an elevator at the Capitol.

Members of the group, which was meeting with Rep. Tom Suozzi, were wearing yarmulkes, and the person coordinating the group is Orthodox, with a traditional beard.

One witness said the group, along with other members of Congress, was waiting for an elevator. When the doors opened, Boebert stepped out of the elevator and looked the group of visitors “from head to toe,” the witness said. Boebert then asked if they were there to conduct “reconnaissance.”

GOP investigator no longer wants to jail Wisconsin mayors

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Republican-hired investigator looking into Wisconsin’s 2020 election is no longer seeking to jail the mayors of Green Bay and Madison for allegedly not complying with a subpoena he issued last year.

A judge on Friday said he needed more facts before deciding whether to compel the mayors to testify. Waukesha County Circuit Judge Ralph Ramirez asked both sides to submit their arguments over the next 10 weeks and set a hearing for April 22.

‘People Need to Know She Sucks’: Kyrsten Sinema’s Volunteers, Ex-Staff Are Fed Up - Vice
VICE News talked to more than a dozen Arizona Democratic activists and former staffers who actively worked to elect Sinema during her 2018 race. Many expressed their frustration not just with her voting record but also with her inaccessibility, her seeming delight at infuriating her party’s base, and her unwillingness to meet. All said that they’d likely vote against her in a primary if she runs in 2024.

Sinema has a delousion of running for the WH in 2024. Word from my friends in Arizona indeed Sinema will censured. Not only that, but Arizona are looking for a candidate to primary her.

And there no way the Arizona Republicans will run her, she has burned that bridge a long time ago. Sinema is grooming herself to become a Lobbyist. That is her ultimate goal.

Emily's List, NARAL pull support of Sinema over opposition to changing filibuster - NBC News
Emily's List, a national group that supports female Democratic candidates who back abortion rights, announced it had pulled support for Sinema in a statement Thursday.

"We believe the decision by Sen. Sinema is not only a blow to voting rights and our electoral system but also to the work of all the partners who supported her victory and her constituents who tried to communicate the importance of this bill," said Emily's List president Laphonza Butler.

As a result of her vote, Butler said, Emily's List "will no longer be able to endorse Sen. Sinema moving forward."

The organization was Sinema's biggest donor in 2018, contributing over $405,000, according to OpenSecrets.

Separately, NARAL Pro-Choice America, another key funder for candidates who support abortion rights, said in a tweet Thursday, it would only endorse senators "who support changing the Senate rules to pass the critical legislation that will protect voting rights."

"There's no reproductive freedom without the freedom to vote. With both freedoms at stake, we're changing our endorsement criteria," said NARAL.

NARAL endorsed Sinema during her run for the Senate in 2018. As of Thursday, Sinema was not listed under endorsements on its website.

Biden Apologizes to Peter Doocy But Hot Mic Gaffe Makes it into White House Transcript

President Joe Biden apologized after calling Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a "stupid son of a b****" on a hot microphone during a meeting about inflation.

Biden met with administration officials Monday afternoon to discuss solutions to deal with the high inflation many in the United States continue to grapple with. Reporters were allowed in the room for the meeting, and several lobbed questions to Biden at the end of it.

Billionaire GOP donor maxed out to Manchin following his Build Back Better opposition

Billionaire Republican donor Ken Langone made the maximum allowable donation to Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W.Va.) PAC weeks after Manchin announced that he would oppose President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better bill, according to a Federal Election Commission filing.

Langone and his wife, Elaine Langone, each made $5,000 contributions to Manchin's Country Roads leadership PAC on Dec. 31, reaching the benchmark for the most an individual is allowed to donate to a PAC of this kind in a single year.

Kyrsten Sinema courted Republican fossil fuel donors with filibuster stance - Guardian
Houston fundraiser reveals Democrat’s aggressive efforts to capitalize on her Senate power on matters ranging from climate to taxes

Peter Stone in Washington DC
Tue 1 Feb 2022 05.00 EST

With a crucial vote pending over filibuster rules that would have made strong voting rights legislation feasible, Democratic senator Kyrsten Sinema flew into Houston, Texas, for a fundraiser that drew dozens of fossil fuel chieftains, including Continental Resources chairman Harold Hamm and ConocoPhillips chief executive Ryan Lance.

The event was held on 18 January at the upmarket River Oaks Country Club. One executive told the Guardian that Sinema spoke for about half an hour and informed a mostly Republican crowd that they could “rest assured” she would not back any changes with filibuster rules, reiterating a stance she took several days before during a Senate speech.

The Arizona senator also addressed some energy industry issues according to the executive, who added that overall he was “tremendously impressed”.

The day after the Houston bash, Sinema voted against changing filibuster rules, thereby helping to thwart the voting rights bill.

The Houston gusher of fossil fuel donations for Sinema from many stalwart Republican donors underscores how pivotal she has become, along with West Virginia Democratic senator Joe Manchin, in an evenly divided Senate involving high-stakes battles for Republican and fossil fuel interests.

Campaign finance watchdogs say that the Houston fundraiser reveals much about Sinema’s aggressive efforts to capitalize on her Senate power on matters ranging from climate change to taxes to the filibuster rule.

“Sinema isn’t up for re-election this year, but she’s fundraising full-tilt,” Sheila Krumholz, the executive director of OpenSecrets, told the Guardian. “By her comment to oil-industry attendees last week, she clearly knew her vote to protect the filibuster would please them.”

Oklahoma bill would fire teachers for offending Christian morals by teaching biology

Oklahoma Sen. Rob Standridge (R) has introduced legislation that would allow parents to sue any public school educators who teach anything “in opposition to closely held religious beliefs of students.” Standridge has also introduced a bill that would give individual parents the power to demand the removal of any book from school shelves that they believe contains LGBTQ content.

While the proposed laws are reminiscent of religious edicts imposed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, Standridge, a Trump follower, isn’t backing down from his hateful attacks on the LGBTQ community.

California county recalls top official, giving militia-aligned group a path to government

Voters in far northern California have solidified the ouster of a Republican county official, giving control of the Shasta county board of supervisors to a group supported by local militia members.

Leonard Moty, a retired police chief and Republican with decades of public service, lost his seat in a recall election in one of California’s most conservative counties. The Tuesday recall came as tensions reached a high in the county after two years of threats and increasing hostility toward moderate Republican officials over pandemic health restrictions.

‘Sit down and shut up’: Lina Hidalgo’s office claims Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick berated her at police funeral

While Texans braced for a winter storm this week with looming fears of another potential collapse of the state's electrical grid, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick had other concerns.

The GOP leader took to Twitter to corroborate claims made in a video posted by the National Fraternal Order of Police that criticized Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo for where she chose to stand during a Tuesday memorial service for slain officer Corporal Charles Galloway. The Harris County Pct. 5 deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Jan. 23.

Arizona election chief sues AG over prosecution threat

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs is suing Attorney General Mark Brnovich after he threatened to prosecute her if she temporarily shuts down for a required update to an online system that allows election candidates to collect the signatures they need to qualify for the ballot.

The suit announced by the state’s top election official and Democratic candidate for governor on Tuesday says Brnovich is “pursuing unfounded and unprecedented enforcement action against the Secretary” and “threatening the Secretary with criminal prosecution for performing her duties as the State’s Chief Elections Officer.”

Republicans block debate on Voting Rights Act in New Mexico Senate

Senate Republicans pulled a legislative maneuver Saturday to block debate on a governor-backed bill advocates say will expand voting rights in New Mexico but that opponents contend Democrats are using for political gain.

The procedure, a stalling tactic known as a “call of the Senate,” requires every member of the chamber to be physically present in the Capitol for a bill to be considered.

I put this here because not only is AOC right again but also Machinima is the reason they're blocking progress & work in the U.S. Senate & they're going to cost us in the midterms fuck those two corrupt corporate assholes.

A ‘return to Jim Crow’: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fears the US could cease to be a democracy

During her three years in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York City has seen first-hand how ugly American politics can be — from death threats to the January 6, 2021 insurrection. The progressive congresswoman and Bernie Sanders ally hasn’t been intimidated, however; she isn’t shy about using Twitter to mercilessly troll far-right MAGA Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez discussed the state of U.S. politics during an interview with the New Yorker that was conducted on February 1 and published on February 14. And she warned that the assault on democracy from the far right is relentless.
