“I was mad,” Andreas Garcia told KCCO as he retold his story on Friday. The incident happened after Andreas finished his homework, while his classroom teacher was focused on her laptop.

“This is our tradition,” said Andreas’s mother Denise Gonzales to KFOR. “He loves his hair and he took the time to grow it out.”

The school district said that it recognizes the significance of hair to students’ identities and is taking the issue seriously. The district also said that it can’t complete the investigation until school resumes on Monday.

“Any students found to be involved will receive discipline in a manner consistent with steps outlined in our student handbook,” Cobb said.

The incident is one of several incidents in the region that involves the forced cutting of a Native boy’s hair against his or his family’s will.

Last fall, in Texas, Native News Online reported a family’s complaint against a school district for punishing a kindergarten student via in-school suspension because he had long hair while attending Martinez Elementary School in Texas. ACLU Texas filed a complaint on behalf of the boy’s family to the United States Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights asking the agency to investigate civil rights violations.

ACLU Texas alleged the case constitutes race and religion discrimination because the boy was a Native American student.

Apart from the election, Hungary also held a referendum today on whether or not to ban sexually explicit media in sex-ed and sex-reassignment information targeting school children.

Voter turnout was 67% and between 92-96% of people voted no on the referendum questions.

Missouri regulates boarding schools after abuse allegations

.....The schools are unrelated and are not affiliated with any particular Christian denomination. But both opened in southwest Missouri under a 1982 state law that gave religious boarding schools free rein and the state no way to monitor how kids were educated. Even the health department had no oversight, including for schools that claimed to address mental health, behavioral and addiction issues.

The new law approved last year followed extensive reporting from The Kansas City Star that found that several faith-based boarding schools, including Agape, relocated to Missouri after being investigated or shut down for abuse or neglect elsewhere........

....James Clemensen, a retired California trooper, and his wife, Kathy, started Agape in Stockton, Missouri, in 1990. He told a reporter in 2002 that he picked Missouri because of its lack of regulation. He died in October........

Harper was 14 when he was sent there from his rural Oregon home in 1999. Now 36, he recalled long hours moving large rocks from one pile to another, toting lumber by hand and clearing land. Harper said his injuries have left him unable to keep a job.

“What I went through at Agape primed me for abusive relationships with people, it primed for being an ignorant young man not knowing the way the world worked, it destroyed my family relationship,” Harper said......

The viral photo of the Black doll dressed as a football player and hanging by its neck sparked outrage among staff, parents and students and prompted a Chicago Public Schools investigation into the incident, a spokeswoman confirmed to The Post. The teacher, who was not publicly identified by the district, was suspended on Wednesday, pending the results of the investigation.

“Chicago Public Schools strives to foster safe and secure learning environments for our students, families, and colleagues,” the spokeswoman said in an email. “Our schools and the District investigate and address all complaints and allegations of wrongdoing in accordance with District policies and procedures.”

The incident is the latest case of teachers being placed on leave after facing similar accusations. Last April, a New Jersey science teacher was suspended after calling George Floyd a “criminal” during a virtual class. In October, a White math teacher in California was suspended after a video captured her sporting a faux Native American headdress, stomping her feet and waving her arms while repeatedly chanting “SohCahToa,” a phrase used in trigonometry.

In other instances, teachers have been terminated. In 2018, an Albuquerque English teacher was dismissed after students reported she called a Native American teen a “bloody Indian” and cut another student’s braid.

Yet school board after school board after school board is implored to ban CRT, which isn't even taught.

This country's legendary race problems are getting worse.
