PGA Tour responds to LIV's antitrust suit, looks to block players from playoffs
Eleven players on the breakaway LIV Golf tour have filed an antitrust suit against the PGA Tour. Three of them — Talor Gooch, Hudson Swafford and Matt Jones — have an immediate challenge: whether they will be permitted to play in the first round of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs, which begin Thursday in Memphis.
On Monday morning, the PGA Tour responded, leaving no doubt about its stance and the likelihood of the players returning for the playoffs. After joining LIV, the players, the Tour responded in its filing, "now run into Court seeking a mandatory injunction to force their way into the TOUR’s season-ending FedExCup Playoffs, an action that would harm all TOUR members that follow the rules. The antitrust laws do not allow Plaintiffs to have their cake and eat it too."

Good this is totally the stupidest idea ever in the sport of Golf.
Federal judge denies LIV golfers bid for PGA Tour postseason
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — A federal judge in California ruled Tuesday that three golfers who joined Saudi-backed LIV Golf will not be able to compete in the PGA Tour’s postseason.
U.S. District Judge Beth Labson Freeman made her decision in San Jose after attorneys for the sides each spoke for about an hour. Freeman said she didn’t consider the golfers faced irreparable harm because of the big money they were guaranteed by joining LIV, a key issue in the case.

For ever the PGA has told its members that they are private contractors. Whenever the players wanted a pension plan or medical insurance they were told you arent an employee you are a contractor.
The PGA has allowed players to play in non-pga events for decades if not longer. For example Tiger always played in that tourney in Dubia every year. None of those tourneys were in competition with the PGA. Now LIV comes along and the PGA is attempting to pull the cards from LIV players.
If this deal ever gets to court the PGA should lose bigtime.

Glenn, ya wanna tell me why you don't think the PGA has the right to ban players from their tournaments?
