I predict in a day or so, he will use the perennial Rethug defense that "he was just kidding" and like Trump, I guess, has a "get out of being taken seriously" card.
There's this sign at MIA that says "don't joke about having bombs or stuff in your bags." There is some idiot every year who does it anyway, then is shocked, shocked, he gets a brief, if real, prison term.

Yea I shouldn’t have even laughed because it’s not funny. The people he’s trying to impress are deadly, and deadly-serious about re-establishing rule over people like him as soon as they’re done using him as a tool.
He better watch his back.

He earned a nice ban from Twitter. Byyyyye.
Homey is precious. I found his campaign site. I really was curious about his (obviously Hispanic) ethnic background. Cuban, Colombian, or Venezuelan? (I would bet.) Nothing there.
But he does say:

While the mainstream media often talks about left vs. right and Democrat vs. Republican, the true enemy of the people is a group of global elites comprising the biggest multinational corporations, the old money dynasties, and the international and central banks.
Their goal is to reduce America and the people of all nations to a state of serfdom under a worldwide, totalitarian oligarchy that fuses socialism, technocracy, and corporatism. They are aided in this effort by Big Tech, the mainstream media, left-wing academics, violent Marxist revolutionary groups like Antifa, and other forces.
Luis has extensively exposed this anti-American, anti-freedom, and anti-Christian agenda as a contributor to some of the nation’s most prominent conservative and alternative publications, including The New American magazine.
[snip][end]
Yeah, in case you don't know, New American magazine was started by ... the John Birch Society.
Ballotopedia says something weird - he was somehow simultaneously trying to run for two offices at once? Surprise, he was told he couldn't do that.

Well done
Take a candidate running a vanity campaign in a district that votes 70 to 85 percent democratic.
Then pretend that his extreme and obscene views are representative of Republicans.

From the above bio:
Luis is the chairman of the St. Johns County Republican Liberty Caucus, an organization dedicated to voting out RINOs in order to bring the GOP in line with President Trump’s America First platform.
Luis served as District Chairman in the St. Johns Republican Executive Committee, leading the work of getting out the vote for President Trump in the 2020 election. During that time, he also served as Communications Director for the county party.
[snip][end]
Never said anything about how many people his views represent.
I admit the guy doesn't seem to like what he calls RINOs; but he also brags about the Republican county offices he's held.
shrug?

Yeah, I would say politically conservative white Latinos in the US are the Latino version of tragic mulattoes, but that wouldn’t be the most accurate analogy. One is literary. The other has histories like being forced by the government into the “white”, ”other white” and other made-up categories. :problem:ProfX wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:21 am He earned a nice ban from Twitter. His views do not differ from mainstream conservatism or mainstream GOP/RNC Republicans.
It shouldn’t make you this nervous. Ralph Norman is a CPAC, Steve Bannon, and Trump minion. And you’ll be eagerly voting for him in his next election.

His hero Ron DePutin is also campaigning for Gub candidate Doug Mastriano.
Remember him? Mastriano was the guy who used the founder of Gab, a notorious anti-Semite, as a campaign consultant.
Heck, looks like Ron has been on quite of a tour.
https://floridapolitics.com/archives/54 ... -desantis/
“Ron DeSantis continues traveling across the country campaigning for election deniers, abortion extremists, and associates of anti-Semites. DeSantis already campaigned for Kari Lake and Blake Masters in Arizona earlier this week, and is joining Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania and J.D. Vance in Ohio on Friday,” the email contends.
Indeed, DeSantis was in Phoenix last week, where he filled a 5,000-seat arena as the headlining act at a Turning Point USA rally on behalf of Lake and Masters, who emerged from competitive Primaries with the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Masters and Lake have questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 election, but disappointment ensued for those on hand who may have hoped for DeSantis to do his own version of one of Trump’s grievance rants about his loss to Joe Biden.
There was little focus on stolen elections, with rhetoric tailored toward party unity. And by the end of his remarks, DeSantis was promising to send National Guard members to stand guard at the Mexican border in cooperation with Lake, if she were elected Governor.
[snip][end]
DePutin is campaigning for extremists. Of course he's muted about discussing Trump himself, he may be running against him in 2024. As for wholeheartedly endorsing Trumpism and Trumpists, well, he's whole hog. He wants to lure those people over to him.
The idea that a FL governor should send FL National Guard to the Mexican border (whether the AZ gov asks for it or not) is an extreme, and BTW also illegal, idea. (see: Posse Comitatus). State National Guard are for in-state emergencies, not for illegal and unconstitutional uses in other states.

Well no, the saddest part is that Ralph Norman is every bit as extreme, and you support him with your full chest and throw away your vote on him.
Person after person after person like Luis gain seat after seat after seat in state houses and Congress because you and the Ralph Norman/Ron DeSantis faction of the GOP allow it.

In a body bag': Sarasota candidate says he'd kill FBI agents if they tried to search home
A Sarasota candidate for Congress says he would have killed the FBI agents who searched former President Donald Trump's property if they tried to do the same thing to his home.
"I wish they'd turn up at my home 'cause they'd have gone home in a body bag," Sarasota businessman Martin Hyde says in a new video.
Hyde is a Republican running for Congress against U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key. He has been a magnet for controversy, with his campaign imploding after he was caught on camera in February berating a Sarasota police officer and threatening her job during a traffic stop.

Sux to be miserable conservative whites like Glennfs.
They have two extremes to choose from, neither of which have that much light between them.
The first is the button-down White Citizens Council Lindsey Graham/Nikki Haley/Ralph Norman/Sarah Palin faction of whackjobs, established mainstream politicians fully in bed with Donald Trump.
The other are these KKK whackjobs like Luis Miguel, Martin Hyde, Ron DeSantis, Doug Mastriano, Lauren Boebert, Andy Biggs, EmptyG, Kari Lake, and Harriet Hageman, all of whom are trying to distinguish themselves from Donald Trump, but make bank on defending Donald Trump and his policies.
This is why they show up on white-nationalist propagandist shows like Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson.
And we can hear a pin drop from DeSantis, the FL GOP, or any of these other conservatives. They're fine to use this guy and let him get his ass banned from Twitter on their behalf.
This hair-thin distinction between these factions of conservative whackodoodles should be exploited for all it's worth.
These are all the same people: white supremacist, white nationalist, frothing-at-the-mouth anti-LGBTQ, and frothing-at-the-mouth anti-government conffederates.
Knock all their heads together until they cry.

More from this desperate white-conservative-aspirant's platform.
No wonder we haven't heard a peep out of them today.
There isn't anything in this platform that differs or distinguishes thie guy from the GOP/RNC, which is why he's running as a Repbulican to begin with..*Apprehend and remove illegal aliens in Florida, eliminate all incentives to illegal migration, mandate E-verify, and establish criminal penalties for those who aid and abet illegals.
*Drain the swamp, shut down the Deep State, and end the influence of seditionists like George Soros, including by sanctioning and prosecuting them.
*Restore Parental Rights, including by breaking up the teachers unions and ensuring school choice.
*Keep corrupt federal agents out of Florida, ban the arrest of D.C. protesters and free Jan. 6 prisoners being held in our state.
*Further rein in Big Tech and end the leftist indoctrination on K-12 and college campuses.
*Unconditionally abolish abortion.
No wonder we haven't heard a peep out of them today.

Re: FL House Repub Candidate: All Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF on site!
That's the topic of a very interesting book, BTW. I often recommend it, by Daniel Goldhagen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler%27 ... ecutioners
Hitler's Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust is a 1996 book by American writer Daniel Goldhagen, in which he argues that the vast majority of ordinary Germans were "willing executioners" in the Holocaust because of a unique and virulent "eliminationist antisemitism" in German political culture which had developed in the preceding centuries. Goldhagen argues that eliminationist antisemitism was the cornerstone of German national identity, was unique to Germany, and because of it ordinary German conscripts killed Jews willingly. Goldhagen asserts that this mentality grew out of medieval attitudes rooted in religion and was later secularized.
The book challenges several common ideas about the Holocaust that Goldhagen believes to be myths. These "myths" include the idea that most Germans did not know about the Holocaust; that only the SS, and not average members of the Wehrmacht, participated in murdering Jews; and that genocidal antisemitism was a uniquely Nazi ideology without historical antecedents.
[snip][end]
Nonsensically, some claimed his book was "racist" against "Germans" (reminds me of other nonsense).
I would quibble with his claim that there was something unique about German anti-Semitism. The Holocaust wouldn't have gotten far without a lot of cooperating Polish, Italian, Croatian, Ukrainian, French, and Czechoslovak anti-Semitism.
But I think what's really important is he shows ordinary Germans knew about, accepted, and in some cases assisted, with the Final Solution. Many of these claims that they didn't know about it are just, well, wrong. The only way I would modify his thesis is there was an anti-Semitism rooted in most of Europe (not just Germany) that made it all possible.
BTW, I also see many people claiming Americans had no idea what was going on until the camps were liberated in 1945. There's a lot of contrary evidence, and I think the extent of the Shoah was largely known even here by 1942.
"Don't believe every quote attributed to people on the Internet" -- Abraham Lincoln
Re: FL House Repub Candidate: All Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF on site!
In that case I take that back, and my thought was at some point the German people needed a reason to hate these people and since there was no logical reason to, someone trained them to. Maybe it was like it is here with African American people. That many here are taught from birth that they are "different" and cant really be "trusted" etc.
In the front of the mind of the cons I dont think is the desire to imprison or kill all the "woke" folk, but it is an idea that will be easily accepted in a short amount of time.
It wont take much for millions of them to be OK with what Hitler did, whether it is a non lethal version or not.

Re: FL House Repub Candidate: All Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF on site!
So, one key factor was the Protocols of The Elders of Zion ... Hitler thought they were real, scholars have proven they are a forgery, but in any case the Protocols describe a (supposed) plot by Jews to subjugate & rule the world... Henry Ford, who as I've said, was a Hitler pal, also published them in his Dearborn Independent.
The word anti-Semitism itself comes from an organization founded in Germany in the late 19th century by a German guy named Wilhelm Marr, as I've said, he was one of the first people to argue Jews were part of a Semitic race that was antithetical to the superior Aryan race of Germans. Marr first argued that it was the duty of Germans to make sure Jews were kept from holding any sort of positions of authority over other Germans.
It's a complicated history. If you read Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler actually cites a number of American eugenicists. Like them, he accepted the eugenic idea, scientifically nonsensical, of course, but, in any case, that Jews were not of the same "race" as other Germans, and therefore, as you say, could not be trusted.
Religious anti-Semitism dovetailed with this new more "racialized/eugenic" form the Nazis promoted. Germans for centuries had been going to the Passion Play at Obergammau, where they are pretty much told the Jews killed Jesus because they were children of the Devil, and just cuz they're nasty people who like to kill their own.
The thing is, these ideas had been circulated in Germany since the 19th century, as I said, and were widespread among people before Hitler and the Nazis came to power.
"Don't believe every quote attributed to people on the Internet" -- Abraham Lincoln
Re: FL House Repub Candidate: All Floridians will have permission to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF on site!
Timothy Snyder talked about that. The nazis could not have been successful without the lawyers, judges and police who weren’t in the Party but who enforced the will of the Nazis. Many everyday people either cheered or simply closed their eyes.ProfX wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 2:40 pm So, one key factor was the Protocols of The Elders of Zion ...
