I don't understand the "We're a spy for profit country now" statement.

I would just as soon they hadn't voted for it.

I think they're using the wrong argument against it. They say it's wrong because when they're spying on those foreign people they might happen on to the communication of an American with a foreign person, and then use it in a criminal case against that American without having obtained a warrant.

That strikes me as a hypocritical argument. Why are they only concerned about the wrongness of it as it only applies to Americans? Those foreigners are people too. :|

Use a reasonable argument, require a warrant for spying on the domestic communications of anyone, anywhere on the world.

I agree with Ron Wyden. This bill should have had more Senate debate, input, amendments.

When I was mocking Trump for being against it, I was merely trying to point to an indicator of his cognitive state, since he didn't seem to know his administration was for it.

Anyway, I'm also against it, as is. We're once again moving back to warrantless wiretapping, and as I recall, this got people upset back in the Aughts, too.
