I sure hope not.

Something similar came up in the Apple vs. DOJ flap. I argued then that no, governments should not be able to compel corporations to turn over data, not even uder the guise of getting terrorists or other bad guys; even though we know corporations themselves are no saints.

That was before Trump was president. I sure hope the pro-DOJ people in that threat now see what I make these arguments.
