Omg their piece of cloth is next to our piece of cloth. Wtf is wrong with you people. I can just imagine what you would be saying had the summit been canceled at the last minute over flag pageantry

And yet, you and your fellow conservative republicans wrap yourselves up in that piece of cloth proclaiming than anyone who disagrees with you is showing themselves to be unpatriotic and they hate their country. You've been playing that canard for decades fooling only the fools like yourself.

Since when do "American Values" include sucking up to a Communist Dictator?

glen is very big calling myself and others "Commie" and "Socialist" (but glen NEVER judges people). He has no problem the Traitor doing exactly that.

glen defends a Traitor. glen supports a Traitor. glen praises a Traitor.

Like International ANSWER?

Funny, ANSWER/PSL/whatever didn't send me their usual People's Glorious Position Statement on this one. I had to go look at their web page, horror of horrors, and I got about what I expected.

CodePINK likes it too.

The REAL far left (Maoist version) is actually 180 degrees from where poor glen thinks it is. They're ready to join Kim and cheeto in a Long March.

I didnt know you were a commie or a socialist. :rw)

Now democratic socialist I can go with, in fact if glen and his ilk had a single brain cell, and they appear not to, they would be also.

But wall street and the Koch bros have convinced them that healthcare and education and science and so on are bad. Weird thing about that is Koch bros are way into science, mostly to cure cancer because they both figure they will get cancer having lived such vile cancerous lives.

Glen and company are AGAINST this list of LIBERAL accomplishments even though they help him/them daily

I said earlier on this thread: "If anything, it will be an empty agreement with a lot of good sounding platitudes allowing both sides to claim some sort of victory."

Reading the text of the agreement I can't find anything of substance in the agreement. Here is the text of the agreement.
Quote:
President Donald J Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held first historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.

President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive in-depth and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new US-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Convinced that the establishment of new US-DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following:

The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new US-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity

The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula

Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula

The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

Having acknowledged that the US-DPRK summit — the first in history — was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulation in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the US-DPRK summit.

President Donald J Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new US-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.
NBCNEWS

Perhaps I'm missing something but where is the meat of the agreement that leads to nuclear disarmament of the Korean Peninsula, verification of nuclear disarmament, reduction of tensions between South Korea/U.S. and North Korea, and human rights of North Koreans?

Like I said, it's all platitudes and no substance.

Trump has now stated that the annual military exercises with South Korea will end. WTF? Why have 25,000 plus troops there if we're not going to train with South Korean troops to ensure the military of both countries can integrate and operate efficiently in case of an actual war with North Korea?

Maybe he'll pull the troops out. Can we do that? Does the UN treaty require they be there? Does it matter to Bolton whether or not it does?

Awful lot of talk today, not many facts. As usual.

I believe he can pull them out if he wants to. The easiest way is to order the Pentagon to close the bases in South Korea since overseas base closures don't require Congressional approval.

Now let's start a pointless trade war with Canada.

Lol Trudeau is supposedly weak and meek and etc., but President White Sheet sez this killer trusts him and vice versa.

Nice going, cons.

Look at this stupid, feckless bigot

Trump says he’ll punish ‘the people of Canada’ because of Trudeau’s news conference - The Star

Quote:
Escalating his attack on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, U.S. President Donald Trump is now pledging to punish “the people of Canada” economically because of the post-G7 news conference in which Trudeau criticized Trump’s tariffs.

“That’s going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada. He learned. You can’t do that. You can’t do that,” Trump said Tuesday in Singapore after meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

Trump repeated the vague threat in an interview with ABC.

“I actually like Justin, you know, I think he’s good, I like him, but he shouldn’t have done that. That was a mistake. That’s going to cost him a lot of money,” Trump said.

Trudeau offered a restrained response.

“Obviously we support the continuing efforts by the president on North Korea. We look forward to looking at the details of the agreement. On his comments, as I said, I’m going to stay focused on defending jobs for Canadians and supporting Canadian interests,” Trudeau told reporters in Ottawa.

This is the first time Trump has threatened to take out his frustration with Trudeau on the Canadian people.

What a freak.

Yeah I just saw this.

We are an enemy of the human race, for real. The UN, Canada etc need to treat us accordingly. No decent country should allow travel to our country or trade.

We are now, thanks to NOSE HOLDERS and others, a virus to the human race.

Actually as of Monday June11, 2018 I am in running to become the next voting to DCCM as the Delegate from District 3. So far no one else one is running. The one Woman who would have mounted a sucessful challenge is more interested in being an alternate at the moment.

I am currently a Delegate to the CADEM and am currently an alternate to the DCCM.

Canada has a federal election next year. Putin is already attacking Canada like they did the USA.

Trump punishing Canada plays into this when they try to install a far right wing Putin puppet to replace Trudeau.

And how many South Koreans trust 45? He has stabbed them in the back. 45 agreed to end the Joint ROK/US Military Exercises.

Kim can do what he wants to the ROK and 45 will do nothing.

Pretty much my impression as well. If there's no substance then there's a good chance the agreement will not mean much. It also means it doesn't have the potential to cause much harm.

As long as Trump has his name on it will have the effect of deterring him from picking up those sabers and rattling them as vigorously has he had been doing before, I would call that a pleasant breath of fresh air.

Trump's so awful I don't expect that much from him. :|

Too soon to tell what if anything will come of this. A guy with nuclear weapons says he wants to begin a conversation to “denuclearize”. I think you have to take the meeting. I also think it would be naive to believe that NK is just going to rollover for us. NK has a reputation for delay and for not living up to their agreements. Nothing exists to say they aren’t still playing that game. The devil will be in the details and there aren’t that many of those at this stage of the game. Initially it appears they have expressed a willingness to talk. So we talk and see if they have any intention of following thru. In the meantime, sanctions stay in place with the threat of more to come.
