I didn't even realize it was New Year's Eve until I got to the grocery store this morning. Good thing I remembered and grabbed the family some snacks for tonight.

I have never been to Times Square (on New Year's anyway), nor am I planning to this year ... was hoping they'd drop the Big Orange again this year, though they won't.
There will be festivities and gatherings again, but no Big Orange. At least the King Mango Strut is back.
I believe Sushi the drag queen will drop in her infamous shoe in Key West. If Ron DeSanctimonious doesn't interfere.

LA actually had a real NYE street party this year. Not that long ago, they were advising everyone to stay inside at midnight, because otherwise you ran the risk of catching a spent round on the way back down.
Of course at 2330 local it poured with a wet substance that people here are not especially good at dealing with, so they called the rest of it off. That's LA.
Times Square looked REALLY crowded this year. Minus the annual CNN Get Drunk Along With Anderson Cooper Show, it wasn't as much fun on TV, though we always watch it in real time on the web feeds (there are many, and they all show the ball drop). The New Year comes early at our house, and then we get to do it again. No wonder I'm so out of it this morning.
I wonder if we'll start hearing about a covid surge in NYC in about a week.
