The Jupiter Effect

Post by ZoWie »

Jupiter and Venus, the two brightest objects in the sky besides the sun and moon, are converging. I don't know if it's close enough to be considered a conjunction, but if it's clear at twilight in North America where you are, it's going to be pretty spectacular in the next week or so. Big if, because the weather people are forecasting a couple of major continental scale snow storms of a magnitude we haven't seen since climate change really started kicking in.

We did get a slight magnetic storm and some aurora from the X2.2 solar flare, but so far it's been pretty weak. NASA's model appears to be turning out to be the most accurate prediction this time. Before this solar cycle is done peaking, there'll be aurora in LA. Happened last time, and that was a weak cycle. This is a strong one.

Helps you remember what the universe is really about, and besides, it looks cool.
