A Princeton senior was arrested Tuesday on felony and misdemeanor charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Larry Fife Giberson ’23 is 21 years old and from Manahawkin, New Jersey, according to a news release from federal prosecutors. The Daily Princetonian reported that he is majoring in politics, and the University’s James Madison Program lists him among its 2022-23 undergraduate fellows.

Former editor of Jewish newspaper charged for Jan. 6 actions

The former editor of an Orthodox Jewish newspaper in New York City — identified two years ago as a member of the Jan. 6 mob by POLITICO — was charged Thursday with two felonies for his actions at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Elliot Resnick, who had drawn controversy prior to Jan. 6 for incendiary and bigoted comments — labeling African religions as “primitive” and suggesting white supremacy is fictional — grabbed a Capitol Police officer’s arm while he was attempting to defend the doors leading to the rotunda, according to charging documents. After those doors were breached, Resnick remained by the entrance and helped pull other rioters into the building at one of the earliest moments of the breach, according to the documents.

WASHINGTON — A far-right extremist who was "obsessed" with white nationalist Nick Fuentes was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for storming the U.S. Capitol and directing a mob toward the office of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, where another rioter stole a laptop.

In delivering the sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson called Riley Williams' actions “utterly reprehensible.”

Retired Tampa Green Beret sentenced to 7 years for weapons conviction tied to Jan. 6-related search warrant

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Retired Green Beret and former Oath Keeper Jeremy Brown was sentenced to over seven years in prison on weapons charges leveled during a federal investigation into his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 capitol riot.

A federal jury convicted Brown, 48, in December of five felonies and one misdemeanor involving two illegal guns and two hand grenades, and possession of a classified document. The items were found during a search last year of his Tampa property.

Sanford, who worked as a firefighter in Chester, Pennsylvania, was arrested in mid-Jan. 2021, and has already spent roughly eight months in custody, which will be shaved off his 52-month sentence. He will also serve three years of supervised release.

A Massachusetts man was sentenced to 68 months in prison for assaulting law enforcement during the breach Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach.

Vincent Gillespie, 61, of Athol, was found guilty during a trial in December of assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, civil disorder, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds and an act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Kentucky man with a long criminal record was sentenced Friday to a record-setting 14 years in prison for attacking police officers with pepper spray and a chair as he stormed the U.S. Capitol with his wife.

Peter Schwartz’s prison sentence is the longest so far among hundreds of Capitol riot cases. The judge who sentenced Schwartz also handed down the previous longest sentence — 10 years — to a retired New York Police Department officer who assaulted a police officer outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

A Pennsylvania woman who went into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot and demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be brought out to the mob was sentenced to more than two years in prison Tuesday, officials said.

Pauline Bauer, 55, was recorded shouting “bring her out here” and “we’re coming in if you don’t bring her out here” near the House speaker’s office during the 2021 attack, according to court documents.

(CNN) — Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich testified Thursday before a federal grand jury investigating January 6, 2021, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Gingrich allegedly communicated with senior advisers to former President Donald Trump about television advertisements that relied on false claims of election fraud, according to documents obtained by the House select committee that investigated January 6.
