Look for the Union Label

Yep after the 5 years or so I spent in a factory job that I hated every minute of, I decided to put myself in a position where that would never happen again.

Re: Look for the Union Label
I liked working in a factory. I loved being able to make a difference in such a large company. And I always had feelers out for jobs across the country, as layoffs were common back in the day.
One thing I learned quickly was about working non-union. The one time I did, I loved the work I was doing, but didn’t like it that the boss didn’t care about our health and safety and threatened us, that if anyone went to OSHA, he would shut everything down. I had found another job and was outta there.

I had plenty of experience in union vs non-union movie production, and I can assure you that the only thing worse than being a line producer stuck on a shoot for eight months is to be a non-union line producer stuck on a shoot for eight months.

Updating your resume after getting a new job isn't unusual but starting to line up a new job would tell me you're not the type of person an employer needs.
