And the Unhappiest State in the U.S. IS......

Post by Number6 »

What state is the unhappiest? NiceRx developed a methodology base on a number of factors including poverty, mental illness, life expectancy, and other factors. The unhappiest state is Mississippi, followed by Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, New Mexico, and South Carolina. At the top of the list were Hawaii and Connecticut.
NiceRx tried to measure the happiest and unhappiest states with its own methodology. Its metrics included poverty, mental illness, life expectancy, median household income, a safety score and homicide levels. Data on life expectancy and homicide rate in each state came from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Data on the mean household income and safety rating for each state were from World Population Review, and data on each state’s rates of mental illness and poverty came from Data USA. According to NiceRx, "These factors cover a range of different topics, from health and social affairs to economic matters. This provided us with a good overview of the different stresses and strains that people living in these states might experience."

What did the research leave out? Certainly environmental factors like air and water pollution. Another measure left out was good schools and colleges. Yet another is the presence of parks and retail amenities. However, its yardsticks are as good as most others.

At the top of the list was Hawaii, which had a score of 9.02. Its mean household income was high at $103,780, and the poverty rate was low at 9.44%. Connecticut ranked second with a score of 8.82. A number of the top states were in the northeast.

Mississippi (2.06) Louisiana (2.38) Arkansas (2.61) Alabama (3.17) West Virginia (3.19) Oklahoma (3.65) Tennessee (3.66) Kentucky (3.77) New Mexico (3.86) South Carolina (4.35)

How accurate this is is probably subjective but having lived-in or stayed for more than 30-days in Tennessee, Alabama, New Mexico, and South Carolina I would have to agree with the rankings.

I thought West Virginia would be in the top five.

The media and public officials tend to make mental illness into a hierarchy in which the assessments come out along the same lines as wealth and available resources, and economic security, but I would challenge that and say maybe we are approaching this wrong thinking about it all wrong because there is plenty of mental illness among the wealthy and educated and people with access to enormous powers.

Just look at the people of Texas freezing to death and becoming impoverished because of the governor and legislators mental illness. In these cases, a handful of people's mental illness cause masses of people to be unhappy and even can cause more mental illness in those trying to cope with conditions.

Coming back continuously under different accounts, pretending you're new and thinking you're fooling everyone, is a fool's errand.

i agree.

just becuz poor people on hawaii can live well and enjoy it via eating native veg and fruits like in the Caribe...doesnt mean
anything much. it means its simpler to satisfy easy meals and foods which is quite nice. this would allow most humans
to feel a sense of "happy".

as for the type of "happy" these info CEO types refer to....yah IDKWTF theyre talking about, unless its income.
hawaii boasts good income therefore theyre more satisfied with...whatever. who couldnt agree with that.

I just want to know how many dead Women from reproductive procedures are good for them, that will satisfy their desire to kill Women who disobey their orders about who can and cant have sex.

I wish they would tell us.

Oh, and if they would explain why trump sending people out to threaten election workers like the huge story today, Kanye West rep etc...And are you just threatening them next November or will you kill a few? Any con can answer, you are ALL equally GUILTY for ANYTHING that happens.
I sigh in your general direction.

well, the youngins are learning.
we have the lowest birth rate in....idrc how long...long long time. news just announced this.

the kids dont want kids.
they cant afford food, why would they want...babies to feed for 20years.

it is about time this birth rate dropped and ceased. no one can afford children, let alone their own cost of living.

fuk off capitalism.

Kind of amazed that WV is only 48th lowest on things like income distribution and public health. With an electorate that keeps voting in people like Manchin, and his Maserati, and his yacht, and his uber-polluting coal industry buddy-buddy relationships, and his DINO politics, one would think that WV would be the lowest.
