Okay but the point is, this Buffalo shooting had nothing to do with jobs or economics or any of that crud.

And yeah the JD Vance, Joe Rohan Glenn Green Alf, John Judis, Susan Sarandon class-only so-called left is definitely a part of it! They definitely were in 226.

Yes, it did NOT, but some folks are gonna eat that shit up, as we see right here. Sad.

I think they do because jobs and the economy translate into power, political, economic, health, wellbeing and otherwise. The disproportion, frailty, and disfunction created by differential treatment is a driver of the contempt and ignorance and hate.

So people who have benefits cards are being maxed out from being overcharged and cant get food. People who have debit cards that fail to catch it face being overdrawn, broke and penalized. likely deliberate for those reasons. corporate predation

Meijer continues to be plagued by card processing issues
Meijer shoppers may want to check their debit or credit card statements. The retailer is once again dealing with card processing problems.

Just a few weeks ago, some customers who used their credit or debit cards at Meijer were overcharged because of the same issue.

Bob Pawlusiak is upset and frustrated. He said he stopped into his local Meijer Friday. His total came out to $33.86. The next day, he looked at his checking account and he was in the negative.

“I go, ‘oh my god what happened?’ And I was charged $33.86 12 times,” said Pawlusiak......

US producer prices soar 10.8% in May as energy costs spike

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. producer prices surged 10.8% in May from a year earlier, underscoring the ongoing threat to the economy from inflation that shows no sign of slowing.

Tuesday’s report from the Labor Department showed that the producer price index — which measures inflation before it reaches consumers — rose at slightly slower pace last month than in April, when it jumped 10.9% from a year earlier, and is down from an 11.5% yearly gain in March.

Thinking back to the shoplifting flash mob fears of '21 that threatened the order of society. The inverse but much worse the bank and retailer teaming up to rob the customers. All the disorder but none of the immediacy to return order.

Michigan Meijer shopper charged $1,500 for a $68 purchase
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A western Michigan shopper likes her new planter but not enough to pay the price 23 times.

Casey DeBruyn is trying to untangle her finances after her debit card was repeatedly charged for a $68 purchase at a Meijer store in the Grand Rapids area. The hit to her bank account: $1,500.......

The shoplifting flash mobs were in fact encouraged by Republican politics of disorder, though of course the usual racial stereotypes were used to explain away the situation. If you are referring to the situation in California, it appears to have been gang related, and it has certain loose connections to the phenomenon of stealing guns from freight trains in East LA.

The general beaten down feeling among the public is exacerbated every time some computer problem causes newsworthy atrocities like the one in Michigan. These have become something of the rule. We are usually in the process of sorting one of these out, pretty much on a continuous basis, taking time away from what would be socially useful performance of our occupations. Right now there are two more IRS matters stemming from deaths in the family. Apparently it's an integral part of the current version of the grieving process to spend the next several years settling the estates, no matter how much preparation was made beforehand.

If a society is going to complicate everything like this, while ignoring the basic fundamentals of maintaining order and general welfare, than history is full of examples of the result. None are pretty.

Maybe its a computer problem or maybe its a deliberate strike against people to undermine receiving their food benefits from the card issued by the state or maybe its to get people to run to fill jobs that solve none of their problems and only make them worse.

Could be they just want to see how much they can take in from people who dont notice or that they want to establish a process to target individuals they dont like the looks of.

any way of it the retailer and bank are in the position to benefit and the consumer, food stamp beneficiary, laborer is in the position to lose and the sense of immediacy reflects that.

Agreed on the immediacy issue. We have to get the country functioning again, and unfortunately those in positions to impede the necessary work of the legislative branch continue to have no consciousness of how immediate the problem is becoming. In fact, they probably think another Great Depression would be the best thing for their cause. They'll ride it out on their yachts and we'll take the hit.

Last month Boeing left Chicago now Caterpillar is leaving Chicago for Texas.

Odd how these companies are moving out of Chicago. You would think companies would be clamoring to relocate to places like Chicago which is ran by progressive Democrats

Companies move to be able to retain a greater portion of their profits, whether it's through tax benefits, lower wages, or fewer regulations. Their profits aren't going to raises for the workers or doing anything to help improve their lives.

Shuffling about where the company operates from will result in a net loss for the workers. I fail to see how a loss for employees in Illinois should be a political point worth celebrating.

Rooting for big business is fine but know that workers just don't seem to gain anything anymore. That's good for a few people, bad for many. Personally, I'd rather things improve for the people who put in the hard work than the executives or shareholders. That's me, though, rooting for the "little guy". I find it sad that so many aren't supportive of others who are "not wealthy", those who put in an honest day's work and, somehow, continue to get less and less.

We're all in this together. Except for much of the rich, they're delighted to see other people fail.

Trump's political operation, Republican groups paid millions to Jan. 6 organizers: watchdog
Political operations linked to former President Donald Trump and the GOP gave millions to those that organized the Jan. 6 rally before a mob of pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, according to a watchdog group.

OpenSecrets, a non-profit research group that focuses on campaign finance, found that Trump's political network and other Republican Party groups gave at least $12.6 million to the organizers since the 2020 election cycle began.

Trump and his affiliates haven't turned off the funding spigot since the riot, according to OpenSecrets, which found millions of dollars in contributions to the rally organizers during the 2022 cycle.......

Suspect leads police on chase after 6 Ford Mustangs stolen from Flat Rock assembly plant
Initially, officials said that five Ford Mustangs were stolen from the plant as the thieves drove passed a Ford Security Guard that was guarding the gate.

It was later determined that the final number was six after the Michigan State Police located one of the Mustangs driving northbound on I-75, which resulted in a pursuit, officials say.
Raptor pickups stolen from Dearborn Truck Plant

An estimated $1 million worth of new 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor pickup trucks were stolen from a Dearborn Truck Plant storage lot, a Dearborn city official confirmed to the Free Press.

Ford reported the missing high-performance trucks, which have a base model price of $69,905, on June 10 with multiple calls to police during that weekend, Bilal Baydoun, city of Dearborn spokesman, said late Thursday......

....."There was evidence of fences being rammed," Baydoun said. "When they (trucks) were recovered, you could see signs of damage and some things were stripped away, tires, that kind of thing. They were in various states of disrepair."......

Union wins right to represent workers at an Apple store for the first time

New York (CNN Business) Apple workers in Towson, Maryland, have voted to form the first-ever labor union at one of the tech giant's US stores.

The landmark union election concluded on Saturday evening with 65 workers voting for unionization and 33 against it, a nearly two-to-one margin in favor of the union, according to a preliminary tally from the National Labor Relations Board.

New home sales rose in May despite higher mortgage rates

New home sales jumped unexpectedly in May, according to data released Friday by the Census Bureau, defying a spike in mortgage rates and falling consumer sentiment to recover from an April downturn.

Sales of new homes rose 10.7 percent in May to a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 696,000 — the total number of homes that would have been sold over a 12-month period at the pace set last month. Economists expected sales to decline in May after dropping 16 percent in April.

U.S. District Court Orders Arbah Hotel Corporation to Pay Fines and NLRB Attorney Fees, Holding Arbah in Contempt of Injunction to Bargain in Good Faith

On May 13, 2022, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey granted Region 22 of the NLRB’s Petition for contempt against Arbah Hotel Corporation and its affiliate The View Hotel, Inc. for failing to comply with the Court’s prior temporary injunction. To remedy Arbah’s failure to comply, the Court ordered Arbah to pay the NLRB attorneys’ fees and costs and ordered prospective fines of $10,000, in addition to daily fines, if Arbah continued not to comply with the court’s order.

The Employer operated the Meadowlands View Hotel in North Bergen, New Jersey. The employees —room attendants, porters, drivers, maintenance, cooks, waiters, waitresses, and dishwashers—were represented by the New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, AFL-CIO (the Union). In February 2020, the Employer subcontracted their work and falsely blamed the Union for their layoffs.

These are the best and worst state economies

As mounting recession risks threaten to slow the growth of the U.S. economy, not all states are faring equally.

A recent study from WalletHub ranked the 50 U.S. states and D.C. by economic performance and health. The analysis used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census to evaluate each state on 28 metrics, including unemployment rates, exports, and the ability to develop startup companies.

US adds 372,000 jobs in June as market stays strong

The U.S. economy added 372,000 jobs and the unemployment rate held even at 3.6 percent in June as a strong labor market held firm amid rising inflation and recession fears.

Job growth in June far exceeded the projections of economists, who expected the U.S. to add roughly 278,000 jobs last month, according to consensus estimates.
