We don't know what the FBI is looking for but to get a search warrant on a former president they had to have overwhelming information to get a judge to issue a search warrant.

Now I know why so many CPAC Qcumbers were calling for the FBI to be abolished.

The FBI is not required to tell him (even if he is ex-POTUS) or the guv or you or me why they executed the search - as long it was lawful and based on probable cause.

The speculation is it probably relates to documents that Trump may have brought to Mar-a-Lago which should have been turned over to the National Archives.

Again, while it's not quite murder, it IS a crime to remove and sequester those documents improperly, and especially if they relate to National Security.

I just heard SS was given several hours heads up this was happening, so OF COURSE the following happened:

1. they told the traitor, who is in NY today

2. traitor told his loyalists in the SS and others that work for him to hide the stuff that would get him in the most trouble, probably took it off premises

The Justice Department has two known active investigations connected to the former President, one on the effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election and January 6, 2021, and the other involving the handling of classified documents.

The National Archives, charged with collecting and sorting presidential material, has previously said at least 15 boxes of White House records were recovered from Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort -- including some that were classified.

In April and May, aides to Trump at Mar-a-Lago were interviewed by the FBI as part of the probe into the handling of presidential records, according to a source familiar with the matter.

I suspect, although he of course walks a fine line and won't say so openly, Guv dePutin is happy, tonight. He did not have to sign off on this raid, but I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't do much once he knew about it.

BTW, as they've been explaining tonight, the warrant may have primarily been about classified documents, but if there are two open investigations on a suspect, nothing prevents them from collecting evidence on other matters.

Nobody in the DOJ is having a dog and pony show to help their party. Nobody is grinding their axe because of being mistreated.
