Rep. Bennie Johnson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House’s select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, said the hearings on the insurrection helped “put significant pressure” on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to begin a probe into former President Trump’s efforts to overturn the election.

“I think our investigation made the case,” Thompson said Saturday on MSNBC, adding “I think those hearings, we held, put significant pressure on the Department of Justice to come forward.”

WASHINGTON — A Donald Trump fan who participated in the Jan. 6 attack and then was the subject of a conspiracy theory on Tucker Carlson's former Fox News show was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday.

Rally Runner, formerly known as Daniel Donnelly Jr., was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, according to court records. Runner faces five federal charges, including obstructing, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder.

WASHINGTON – Proud Boys member Joseph Biggs was sentenced Thursday to 17 years in prison – the second-longest sentence yet related to the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021 − for his role in the seditious conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and keep Donald Trump in the White House.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced another Proud Boys member, Zachary Rehl, to 15 years in prison on Thursday after he was also convicted of seditious conspiracy and other charges.

Our DOJ is doing an excellent job tempering justice with mercy. Those there with bad intentions are getting what they deserve. Those who were there to protest or to attend a political rally but got caught up in the emotion of the moment are getting the mercy they deserve.

While at times our system of justice is over the top political. Most of the time such as dealing with the January 6th protest they are being non political.

Many on the left including some here over reacted and were and are over emotionally about January 6th. With their personal political motivations behind most of their thinking and beliefs they wanted to see all treated the way our justice system is treating the few who have earned and deserve harsh treatment.

Thankfully our DOJ has not done anything to escalate the situation.

There was no actual insurrection or coup. Had there been there would have been a battle plan, central command, people at the Capitol would have had specific duties to perform. There would have been a chain of command at the Capitol.

It is not cheerleading it was a riot. Not an insurrection. What are you going to say if nobody is charged.

So after nobody gets charged or convicted of insurrection or a crime related to trying to overthrow the government I suppose you will say they got away with it.

If the January 6th riot were an insurrection why hasn't anyone been charged or convicted of any crimes related to an insurrection.

Overall all I personally give our DOJ an A+ for how they have handled the prosecution and how they have ignored the political lie that it was an insurrection and we almost lost our country.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Nashville man called “Zip Tie Guy” was sentenced on Friday to nearly five years in prison for his role in the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol.

Eric Munchel, 32, was found guilty of five felonies and three misdemeanors earlier this year, alongside his mother Lisa Eisenhart, 59, who was also sentenced on Friday to two-and-a-half years in prison.

The deputy director of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign in New Hampshire, Dylan Quattrucci, has left the campaign, according to one of Trump’s senior aides.

Quattrucci was near the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and in August, NBC News reported that a video of Quattrucci showed him telling police officers “go hang yourself” during the riot. There is no evidence that he entered the building.

'Bullhorn Lady' sentenced to nearly 5 years in prison for smashing window, encouraging mob on Jan. 6

WASHINGTON — A Pennsylvania woman known as “Bullhorn Lady” for her efforts to encourage other rioters to enter the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was sentenced Tuesday to nearly five years in prison.

Rachel Marie Powell, 43, was convicted earlier this year in a bench trial of multiple felony counts for her role in the riot, including obstruction of an official proceeding, civil disorder and entering and remaining in a restricted area with a dangerous weapon. Powell can be heard on Jan. 6 using a bullhorn to tell other rioters, “People should probably coordinate together if you’re going to take this building.” Although she was convicted of using an ice ax to smash a window in an effort to create an entryway into a congressional office, she avoided the more serious felony version that has resulted in a terrorism enhancement in other Jan. 6 cases.

Kenneth Joseph Owen Thomas has acted as a “one-man misinformation machine” since the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, using his social media platforms to spread false narratives about the attack, according to federal prosecutors. They say Thomas produces more than 20 hours of Jan. 6-related online content every week.
