Bu yeah, that stuff’s all an equivalence to an attempted overthrow of the government on J6, according to Joe Memphis. Fair is fair.gounion wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:28 am They spent 10 percent of the time blaming the economy on Biden, but never said ONE TIME what they'd do if they got power. I vote for and support a government free of corruption. That’s ideal. Hard to get there. However, we won’t get close to that without setting standards that we are willing to apply equally across the board regardless of party. We won’t get there without enforcement mechanisms. Every government official and employee should be aware that there are standards of conduct and when they stray from those standards they may be subject to investigation and sanctions.gounion wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:14 am He's already being investigated. There's a Grand Jury empaneled. But, he's never been a government employee, so I fail to see why it's the top priority of the next Congress.
But Joe, this is what you voted for, and you're obviously pleased they are doing what they said they would do when they got your vote. Who cares about anything else. I guess when you say you vote for your own interests that THIS is what is in your interest, not the economy or inflation or anything else.
I don’t give two shits about Hunter Biden. However if he was influence peddling with foreign countries or domestic organizations and the Senior Biden profited directly or indirectly, that is a concern and that is worthy of investigation. If it was worthy of investigation in the previous administration, the same holds true for this administration.
I see no reason that these investigations cannot proceed at the same time as other government business. I mean we have 535 members of Congress. 435 of them are in the house. They all have staffs and investigators available to them. They should be able to multi task. My hope would be these investigations would proceed quietly and professionally but that is not the current standard for such things. I guess we shall see.

Let's be clear: If you want no corruption, then you won't be voting GOP. President Obama had an eight-year term, the first in modern history where NO ONE in his administration was indicted or jailed. That included Vice President Joe Biden, who is, like Obama, running a squeaky-clean administration.JoeMemphis wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:41 am I vote for and support a government free of corruption. Let's remember YOUR Senator is one of the most corrupt in history, stealing more from the government than anyone in history, but you'll vote for him. And your Governor, who you voted for, is in trouble already for corruption.
Oh, he's been investigated by a Grand Jury, and indictments are probably forthcoming - but for his personal wrongdoing, as drug addicts are wont to do. Nothing about his father. Because it's not there. Joe Biden isn't stupid enough to let a drug-addicted son influence him.I don’t give two shits about Hunter Biden. Oh? Well, in the GOP's first Press Conference after claiming the leadership of the next Congress, all they wanted to talk about was Hunter Biden.I see no reason that these investigations cannot proceed at the same time as other government business. And YOUR standard is putting MTG on the House Oversight Committee, and you want to pretend things are going to be done quietly and professionally? Bullshit. Again, Joe, this is what you voted for. It's going to a crazy nutjob show, and you're going to be all in on it.
Republicans can't govern. All they can do is destroy, and you voted for destruction. Own it.

You act as if there is no corruption and has never been any corruption in the Democratic Party. Take off the rose colored glasses. If lack of corruption is the standard for supporting, then neither party would get my vote.
Congress isn’t the Grand Jury but you know that already. Weak excuse. Congress has oversight responsibility which is separate and different from the DOJ. But you know that as well. Congress often investigates private citizens when the conduct of that individual could potentially affect or influence the operation of government. Just the other day, your President mentioned potentially investigating Elon Musk. A couple of Senators mentioned his name as well. He’s not a government employee.
Again. I didn’t oppose investigations into the previous administration. And to be clear, that administration was investigated pretty much continually for most of the last 6 years. I’m not going to oppose legitimate investigations into this administration either. That would be a double standard. I get you are comfortable with double standards. Me, I think they are meaningless and lead to corruption.

False equivalency. The GOP, by ANY standard, is and has been FAR more corrupt than the Dems. The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by numerous scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any president in American history. You act as if there is no corruption and has never been any corruption in the Democratic Party. Your Senator stole more money from the federal government than anyone in history, but you'll vote for him. Your governor spent state tax money to send Asylum seekers from Texas to Massachusetts. But you voted for him anyway.
If you didn't want corruption, you would have voted for Joe Biden in 2020. But you didn't.
So quit pretending to be Mr. Middle-of-the-Road. You're a far-right ideologue, who will accept any corruption from your side.
And you can't see the difference. Congress DOES have oversight of our media. And there is zero evidence whatsoever that Hunter Biden's actions had any influence upon his father. But you don't care, do you? A witch hunt is fine with you.Congress isn’t the Grand Jury but you know that already. Weak excuse. Yes you did. You said that since the DoJ was investigating Jan 6th, there was no reason for Congress to do so. And you can't admit there is reason to investigate Donald Trump.Again. Re: MAGA House
I never said Congress didn’t have a legitimate right to investigate. I never opposed a single investigation. What I did say is that to enforce Congressional subpoena power requires the DOJ’s support. Without that congressional investigations can and are stonewalled and toothless. That’s the Obama/Holder strategy.gounion wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 9:18 am Bullshit. But that's all you have.

I have much more confidence in DOJ investigations as long as they are performed by objective, independent, competent and thorough professional law enforcement officers. That doesn’t mean that I don’t also support the legitimate right of Congress to investigate under their oversight responsibility. I challenge you to show where I have ever objected to that.
As to your last statement, I supported every single investigation into DJT. Never objected nor made excuses for a single one. Once again. I have no double standard here. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. You should try it instead of twisting yourself into a pretzel or flip flopping like a fish on hot concrete.
Re: MAGA House
Yeah, Joe Memphis really votes for a government free of corruption.
Meanwhile, we got Trump with his already pile high list of indictments against him and his administration, attempting to destroy America with a coup and then pilfering top secret documents and stashing them at Mar a Lago. But then Joe never says a word about it and doesn't care, then votes for Trumpers who refuse to hold him accountable, knowing all this. This guy's so full of shit I'm surprised he doesn't constantly slip off the keyboard every time he tries to post.
And these graphs and images are even dated.
Seriously dude, sit down.

There was no red wave because the democratic party through its surrogates spent 53 million getting those maga Republicans on the ballot.Drak wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 10:06 am Here we go. It’s going to be endless show trials airing Trump’s grievances and retribution for the next two years. They’re already setting up committees headed by the likes of MTG to go after Pelosi (what for?) and the DOJ about how J6 defendants are being “treated,” as well as Hunter Biden, a private citizen.
The reason there was no Red Wave is due to MAGA extremism. But this won’t stop. It’s going to be two years of complete bullshit and a serious waste of money, instead of working for America. This will hurt them more in 2024. People are sick of this garbage.

You can't take responsibility for anything, can you? Nope, the GOP and the electorate was outfoxed by the cunning Dems, and the American people WANTED a red wave because they love EVERYTHING the GOP stands for, right? They probably got ten times that amount from dark money, probably including foreign sources, but keep citing that figure.

Re: MAGA House
Glenn will use that for the next two years. He'll probably cite that three or four hundred times on the board. That's because he is incapable of taking responsibility for the GOP's actions. Nothing is EVER their fault.

Name one policy of Donald Trump's that differs from DeSantis or Norman.
Just one.
Two bonus points if you can name three.
