Okay, this isn’t about the source - this happened on the Stephanie Miller show. But it’s a former federal prosecutor, and I think he makes an excellent point:
As Newsweek is reporting, Kirschner pointed out that the former president is not above turning on son-in-law Jared Kushner and possibly his daughter Ivanka if cornered, in the apparent belief it would get him off the hook.
Speaking to the host, he suggested, "Do you think he's going to stand up for anybody about whom he has dirt? Are you kidding me? He will sell out everybody, including, I believe, his family members. Jared, perhaps even Ivanka in order to get himself a better deal. Because that's who Donald Trump is. He's going to go to the art of the deal to the art of the plea deal."
Kirschner added the former president would "...give up everybody to try to save himself."
"That's what narcissists do. They sacrifice everybody else to save themselves, even if it's only to save themselves one year in prison, one day in prison, one hour in prison. Or maybe just for spite, because they deserve to be thrown under the bus," he elaborated.
When Trump is indicted, it’ll be an interesting thing to see. I mean, Trump will try to give anyone up that he can.
But that really doesn’t work, does it? I mean, to make a deal, prosecutors want you to give up someone ABOVE you. And Trump can’t really give anyone else up, can he? “Oh, hey, put my daughter and son-in-law in prison, but let me go!”
I think that Jack Smith is a hard-line prosecutor. He has a good record of getting the big fish and putting them away. Trump tries to say that he’s a tough guy, that he got courage, but he doesn’t. I’ve seen the video of how he cowered and ran when there was a kerfuful in the crowd at rallies, and oh yeah, did you see him when they had an eagle with him at a photo opp?
If he’s indicted, he won’t be combative, he’ll be a cowering, crying, begging blob of tears.
