Liberal activist judges impede First Amendment rights and conservative activist judges restore those rights.

Conservative whites will spend a mint to suppress minorities, like you did with Jim Crow, Indian boarding schools, redlining/blockbusting, your eugenics boards, and state-forced heterosexuality.

You yourself believe there ought to be a "public accomodations amendment" to the Constitution.

So much for all that freedom of expression and freedom of association you guys crow so loudly about. :problem:

If you go through the deeper points of that article, what you will find is RWers on the Court have actually been reducing the 1st amendment rights of actual living, breathing human people who are supposed to have them, while increasing the so-called 1st admt. "rights" of fictitious "corporate persons" who actually don't (and got them only through the tortured logic of Santa Clara County vs. Pacific Railroad and Citizens United) to commercial/corporate speech (i.e. advertising, buying candidates, etc.)

Conservatives are misanthropes.

Anybody on the fence on this can look at what they do to their own families in the name of family values, what they do to the actually-living in the name of being pro life.

Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Significant New Case About Civil Asset Forfeiture and the Bill of Rights

"This case also gives the Supreme Court an opportunity to consider the broader injustices that occur in the name of civil asset forfeiture. As Justice Clarence Thomas observed last year, "this system—where police can seize property with limited judicial oversight and retain it for their own use—has led to egregious and well-chronicled abuses." By ruling in favor of Tyson Timbs, the justices can rein in at least some of this abuse."

Session's efforts may be short lived.

Pence details plan for creation of Space Force in what would be the sixth branch of the military - WP

Quote:
Vice President Pence laid out an ambitious plan Thursday that would create a military command dedicated to space this year and eventually establish a “Space Force” as the sixth branch of the U.S. military.

In a speech at the Pentagon, Pence warned of the advancements that potential adversaries were making and issued what amounted to a call to arms to preserve the military’s dominance in space.

“Just as we’ve done in ages past, the United States will meet the emerging threats on this new battlefield,” he said. “The time has come to establish the United States Space Force.”

:problem: our infrastructure is falling apart and are kicking veterans off of VA benefits. But let's have a 6th branch of the military. :problem: :problem: :problem: :problem:

Why create a new branch of the military when the job is already being done by the military? The AF already does most of what a space force would do and the other branches of the military also perform these functions in cooperation with each other.

In order to establish a new military branch Congress is going to have to pass a bill authorizing its creation. That means you have to build, from scratch, the infrastructure to support it which would include, but not limited to, materiel acquisition/testing, logistics, transportation, communications, civil engineering, personnel administration, medical services, accounting/finance, contracting, etc. It would be simpler to just increase the scope and resources of the AF Space Command rather than establish a new military branch.

'Bait truck' of Nike shoes left in black Chicago community during railroad sting

Quote:
Community members confronted a circle of police in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood over a "bait truck" filled with Nike shoes and allegedly left open by police aiming to lure potential thieves and make arrests.

"Y'all dirty, man," a man tells officers in an online video of the incident published Thursday. "Y'all see kids playing ball and you pull a f----- Nike truck into the ghetto."..............
