There is no target boycott
There is no target boycott
IMO
https://www.newsweek.com/boycotts-initi ... ts-1802975
People that shop at target would not be upset about the issue.
This reminds me of the NFL boycott which was lead by people who don't watch the NFL.
Unlike the beer boycott where there are many choices. I don't think your typical target shopper is going to switch to Walmart.
The stock price probably dropped because target was probably on shakey ground anyway.
Personally I go into target once a year at Christmas. Because the target in our area is not in a convenient location.
However I do know people that will drive past 3 Wal-Mart stores to get to target.
Which brings up another point I personally find target shoppers to be loyal to the brand
Anyway imo this so called boycott is a big nothing burger

Re: There is no target boycott
The beer boycott was nothing too. No reason to be upset about who a beer microtargets to sell more beer.
Re: There is no target boycott
Actually the beer boycott is very real as sales of Bud Light are down over 20pct.
Budweiser is buying old inventory back from wholesalers and offering rebates that amount to free beer.

Re: There is no target boycott
But it’s a fake boycott. It’s like NFL fans boycotting beer because they also advertise at NBA games.

All this says to me is that a certain portion of the consumers are slack-jawed troglodytes.
Re: There is no target boycott
Like I said, like the NFL boycotting because they advertised with the NBA. Or you troglodytes pissed if they advertised on the WNBA.Glennfs wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:50 pm https://www.nbcnews.com/business/consum ... -rcna85832
Down 28pct
Re: There is no target boycott
Well, I agree because I don't think attacking and harassing employees and trashing store property is a "boycott".
Don't like Pride merchandise, don't buy it, or don't shop at Target ... that's a boycott. The other stuff is, well, as was said, being troglodytes.

Exactly the exact same thing is true for people who boycott Chic FilaProfX wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:21 am Well, I agree because I don't think attacking and harassing employees and trashing store property is a "boycott".

Maybe I am misunderstanding you. Are you claiming that the Bud Light boycott isn't real and has had no effect?

Re: There is no target boycott
No, I don't know of any lefties who feel they can go into Chic Fil-A and harass employees or trash the furniture. So no, it's not the same as what is happening at some Targets nationwide. You missed my point.

Re: There is no target boycott
Those people who are harassing patrons are 100pct in the wrong 100pct of the time.
No matter if it is a conservative harassing a customer at Target or a liberal harassing a person trying to eat at a restaurant

This is not a boycott. I agree.
Target stores attacked by homophobes following backlash to Pride collection
https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/05/26/ ... sh-videos/
[snip]
In recent days, footage has been shared across social media showing anti-LGBTQ+ bigots visiting the retailer’s outlets and destroying its Pride displays, berating employees and questioning other customers using the business.
[snip]
In the footage, individuals can be seen removing clothes from their racks and throwing them onto the floor, breaking product displays, screaming at staff and pushing conspiracy theories that LGBTQ+ people are inherently out to ‘groom’ children.
One unnamed person filmed employees and customers in a Target store, and when staff tried to remove the person filming, labelled them and the business as “Satanic”.
[snip]
“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and wellbeing while at work,” a spokesperson for the brand said.
[snip][end]
Once again, I would condemn anybody harassing employees or customers at Chic Fil-A, or trashing displays of spotted cows. But if they don't want to buy food there - don't. That's a boycott.

Re: There is no target boycott
I have never boycotted a Chik-Fil-A
Re: There is no target boycott
No, I’m not saying it’s not real. I’m not saying it didn’t affect sales and profits.
I’m wanting you to explain why it’s fitting and proper. Why they had good reason to boycott the beer.
Sales for mainline Beer is going down everywhere. More types of beer are coming to market, as well as other alcoholic drinks. You mentioned yourself how Mexican beer is being consumed in great quantity.
So, they are looking for new markets, often nitch markets. In today’s world, mass advertising isn’t the only advertising available for companies. They can micro-target sectors of the population for little money. If you watch YouTube videos or Instagram, people there will do commercials for companies to their followers. My wife is related to a young college girl who is pretty but, shall we say, Rubenesque (look it up, Glenn) and has a LOT of Tik Tok followers. No nudity at all. But she does basic fashion shows on her feed for several different clothing lines, and that paid advertising pays for college and expenses, and she is banking a lot of it.
Now, she’s not posing nude, she’s not doing porn. So who the fuck is she hurting?
NO ONE will see what she’s doing except for her followers. Now, the trans woman, Dylan Muvaney, has over 2 million followers. They paid her to do a spot on her Instagram page to her followers. Now, I’m sure her followers aren’t all trans people, but are people that are supportive of trans people. But you wouldn’t know about the ad, you would never see the ad, unless you followed her Instagram feed.
But for a pittance, Bud Light can reach her two million followers and market to them. Which somehow pisses off your fragile fee-fees.
As I said, it’d be like NFL fans boycotting beer because they also advertised to WNBA fans.
The bad thing for the beer is that they have always been big GOP supporters, donating tons of money.
All they are doing is trying to reach more customers.
So tell me why this boycott is done for any reason but pure hatred of trans people? Please, justify it.

It is being done for the same reason people like you boycott Chic Fila.
Because it is supporting a political position the consumer of their product do not support.
Hated has nothing to do with it. Unless of course you hate Christians

Re: There is no target boycott
I don’t boycott Chic Fil A - I really never went there.
And Chick Fil A actively paid for conversion therapy of gays - which is harmful to them. But then you are all for harming gays, aren’t you?

Once again you just make shit up because you truly have nothing.
What a sad and pitiful person you are

Re: There is no target boycott
The Bud boycott is being done for the same reason as the chik Fila boycott.
Because their customers do not agree with the political stance taken by the company.
You can say one is justified and one isn't but that is your opinion and doesn't change the fact that both are for the same basic reason.
The pathetic shit you are making up is your comment about wanting me to see all gay people to be harmed. That is just plain stupid to say and demonstrates how pathetic you have become.

Re: There is no target boycott
Is supporting LGBTQ a political stance?
Odd.
Odd.
Re: There is no target boycott
What A/B did wasn’t a political stance. They support the GOP. It was advertising to a niche market.Glennfs wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 5:51 pm The Bud boycott is being done for the same reason as the chik Fila boycott.
