Yes I used to use it when I used Opera. Still do on occasion. I use all of the main ones. I remember when Google first came out, they were promoting themselves as being private. Or something.

I vaguely remember topclick, but never did much with it. Then there was one called Dogpile, which invoked all the other search engines and gave it to you in, well, a dogpile.

Hotbot is still around, and applies to this topic well. They use Google as their search engine now but when used it searches from their IP, meaning it doesn't use your IP.

i suspect i cliked something on DDG and it then allowed itself to be tagged to FF.

i got rid of a few things then got a box on DDG to clik IF I Wanted to let FF do something. IDRC.
i saw that box pop again on DDG so i musta disturbed it somehow. and i must have merged the two
somehow. its quite annoying.
