Ah to be young and dumb again. i remember riding my 350 Kawasaki into November and even to my girl friends X mas party one year. Rode that thing into the ground and when it was no longer street worthy i stripped it down and made a dirt bike out of her. That'd get some laughs. Ah good times. :D
Well, at the time it was what I had to do. But it sure helped suck my previously deep love of motorcycles from my frozen hands. But I kept it upright all the time on the ice!

What a release. But for a couple of times wondering what the hell i was doing riding in February it was all good. It does make me wonder though. 64 degrees in February makes me wonder what this summer will bring.

To cold to ride...........To hot to ride.

Don't like to think about it.

Been busy and away from the board, and found I had a few PM’s making sure I was okay. My board life will be spotty for a while, having company around the Memorial Day holiday, and lots of things going on. I’ve NOT been on, and I have nearly 700 accounts that have been made that I’m getting ready to delete. I was worried it was going to be a thousand.

Did have some pretty severe weather, I guess it was last week. Tornado moved through to the south, and I was worried but it did stay well to the south. No damage from the storm, but it was a doozy.

I had noticed you'd been away for awhile and it's good to see you're back. Hopefully, the storms you've had haven't impacted you.

Nah, just one night. Nothing really bad here, but I was watching Ryan Hall Y’all on YouTube - a storm chasing series, and they had a pretty big one - Cat 3 or so, on the ground and moving, twenty miles or so south of us, went through I-65, and we were in the tornado warning, in the northeast corner, and I was certainly concerned, but the tornado instead went due east and caused a fair amount of damage. One story that hit the area news was some people that were on the road as the storm was bearing down on them went to a Walmart to shelter, and they had employees refusing to allow people in, and it caused a ruckus after the fact. The local management wouldn’t say a word, and corporate said they did not have such a policy, and wouldn’t confirm or deny that anyone had been turned away in this case. Fucking corporations. CYA.

But really good things are happening these days, with plans for more, so things are hopping. I’ll probably be working several hours a day next month and early July getting ready for our early August primary, too.

There is also a long series of books I’ve been reading when I can, and I’ll still be on them for a while too.

Oh, no shit. The radar is so good now, they usually know when there's a real tornado out there. I've been watching Ryan Hall on YouTube live streams when there's severe weather, even when it's nowhere near our state!

But I've always been captivated with the weather, since I was little.

I don't have the types of weather you have but I do check The Weather Channel app about twice a day mainly to see what the temperature is. When we have a possibility of rain, I'm checking it to see when the rain is scheduled to start or to view the weather radar to see how far out a storm is.

We had a big rain storm in San Diego back in January which caused sever flooding in several sections of the city. I was checking the weather app to see when the rain would let up. I was on Naval Base San Diego then and when I was able to get out but because of flooding in the area, a lot of road were closed and I was detoured down other roads. I was using the Waze app and even then what is normally a 12 minute drive home took just over an hour.

Enjoying life is good. I probably won't be on here much after this week. And whatever the result of the upcoming election, I likely won't be on much again. Too much stuff to do and life to enjoy.

im not enjoying much. since my horses are in the ground life has sucked for me.
ive not adjusted well at all.
there was no way then for me to move directly in to more or diff or available or anyone elses horses.
for me...it was like a semi hit me in the road and cut all i knew in half making half of it disappear. i was cut in half. nothing was connected anymore. i was 3 years of no longer knowing who i was. few more years and im..sorta mucking along.

as well...fire had driven me already from the big ranch and every place i looked
at included most every town in NCA that burned to the ground, they had
been horse towns i looked at after leaving the big ranch and going to the NW.
so im glad i was indecisive on that or those moves. got the WA place sold was
renting it back cheap while checking out NCA. i headed back to CO.

for most of 30years i got to live with my horses and animals on some of
The Most Beautiful and healthy untouched unlogged land left in colorado,
maybe the planet.

it was also Very historical land as denver museum learned when i had them out.
hunter gathers liked that land for reasons i suspected as i found their tools.
my joy my bliss my Dream, i had achieved. i got to live with train ride love
wild mustangs on natural land for them. 2000acres of lovely pine tree wild.
we was wild. happy.

now?....grateful and yet empty. my joy is being outside hiking the dog on the land...breathing it all.
i dont watch the news. its all like bad neighbors.

great song...And hes at home for this...nuthin fancy here but but music.

All Good Things
Jackson Browne
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tWeHAJ ... dD&index=7
All good things got to come to an end
The thrills have to fade
Before they come 'round again
The bills will be paid
And the pleasure will mend
All good things got to come to an end

[Verse 2]
God I wish I was home
Laying 'round with my friends
The call of the wild
Caution thrown to the wind
The fall of the child
Where the longing begins
All good things got to come to an end

[Bridge]
Like a river flows
Rolling 'til it ends in the sea
Our pleasure grows
Rolling 'til it ends in you and me

[Verse 3]
Now as the dark gathers into the sky
And legions of might go thundering by
Regions of light grow dim and then die
And we with our wings
Wait for morning to fly

Like a river flows
Rolling 'til it ends in the sea
Our pleasure grows
Rolling 'til it ends in you and me

[Verse 4]
Here where the angels
Have appeared and are gone
Your face like an ember
Glows in the dawn
But I want you to remember
All wild deeds live on
All good times, all good friends

[Verse 1]
All good things got to come to an end
The thrills have to fade
Before they come 'round again
The bills will be paid
And the pleasure will mend
All good things got to come to an end

All good times, all good friends
All good things got to come to an end

I’m sorry too, Rain. Our animal friends are loved and just as important as our human companions and loved ones. Sometimes more so.

i feel like i had two lives...or, the chance opportunity..to have two lives. maybe three...hmmm.
first could be the hippie life once i left home, in college as it happened.
then the man i loved and the kid which went on a long time, then, come the time when all that
changed and I..Me...I..was able to do what I wanted to do.
return horses in my life. i gave all that up for middle class merica bills, life, time.
anyhow...time was now mine so i bought wild mustangs and began the life I wanted.

ive always felt lucky i could do that. or, that i did do that. No regrets.
i just had not ever planned for or..envisioned the semi truck part. :(
or now. 8-)

You know I always admired you for living the dream. I still consider you an existential hero.

My dream was to do creative work, and frack everything else, and that's what I did. Fortunately, I could do it in the city, since I like the city. People always say, "With your brains you could have been filthy rich," and I don't say anything, but what I'm thinking is no, I'd be dead.

I've never really cared about what other people say I could or should do with my life. It's my life and I'll live it the way I want to. I've always looked at others trying to keep up with their family, friends, their coworkers, etc.. and I couldn't understand why. Most of the time it seems they want to project themselves as being successful because in our society if you aren't successful you're nothing.

I think I confuse my youngest brother when I was over at his house. It was a large house with a top-line appliances, swimming pool, luxury cars, belonged to the local yacht club, etc.. but I wasn't impressed. Why? Because having all those things is material and having material things doesn't impress me. I tend to look at people not by what they have but by their character. The friends I have are well-off but they don't flaunt it and like me they prefer material things to have a useful function rather than for show.

Agreed! I remember the name of an album by Sinead O'Conner - "i do not want what i haven't got". Never heard the song, not a big fan - but that statement always stuck with me.

My friends from work have bigger houses and more stuff than I do - and we could have afforded a much bigger house when I retired - but why? It's just my wife and I, hell, we don't hardly ever go upstairs! Both our cars are several years old but in great shape, both paid off. We have money in the bank, can buy whatever we want, do whatever we want to do, our only debt is our home, and, as another, far greater singer (the late, great Johnny Cash) once sang, I have a "Satisfied Mind".

We're on the same page, my friend!

existentialism...a system of ideas made famous by Jean Paul Sartre in the 1940s in which the world has no meaning and each person is alone and completely responsible for their own actions, by which they make their own character
i had to look it up, havent heard the word in ages since everyone i know personally text. thus no use of big words. :|
