Net neutrality will be repealed Monday unless Congress takes action

With net neutrality rules scheduled to be repealed on Monday, Senate Democrats are calling on House Speaker Paul Ryan to schedule a vote that could preserve the broadband regulations.

The US Senate voted on May 16 to reverse the Federal Communications Commission's repeal of net neutrality rules, but a House vote—and President Trump's signature—is still needed. Today, the entire Senate Democratic Caucus wrote a letter to Ryan urging him to allow a vote on the House floor.

Hoping for Paul Ryan to do the right thing?

Yeah. Won't hold my breath.

Congress won't take action. So log it as net neutrality will be repealed on Monday.

I think it actually happened in back 2014, in the adverse Verizon Communications Inc. v. FCC court ruling.

People have just been loath to admit it was dead.

I've considered it as dead since way back then. All this we've been hashing over about this and that, outrage and problems, since then has been the aftermath of it's untimely death in 2014. It was sick and disabled even before that.

Dead at the federal level, at least until there's some FCC etc. regime change.

Dead at the state level ... nah, looks like this is where the action moves, and some new arguments over federalism.

We get to live in interesting times. Hope you live in a state that is working on state-level mandates for it ... Gov. Skeletor doesn't seem interested. :(

Maybe a new guv of Fla. will be. ;)
