Joe's account was accidentally deleted on Sept. 24th.

I spoke with Plunderer today, we hadn't talked in a while. I noticed that Joe hadn't been posting a few weeks ago. Then tried to do a search, and nothing came up for Joe. His posts are still there, but his account isn't. I figured maybe he got hold of Plunderer and said "take me off".

But that's not what happened, he hadn't heard from anyone. He hadn't been back to the board for weeks. Truth is, we don't know what happened. The ONLY admin stuff I do is deleting the russian fake bot accounts that show up, sometimes more than a hundred every day. They show up on the board as inactive, then I just hit some buttons that say "delete inactive".

Well, Plunderer and I did a lot of searching, and in the admin logs, sure enough, I had deleted around a hundred inactive accounts, and the top one was "JoeMemphis". There is NOTHING in the admin logs showing that I made his account inactive, and I don't go to anyone's account page. Really the ONLY thing I've done is deleting these bot accounts.

Now, we had the thing with Lucy, months after we had started the new board, and I noticed her name among the hundreds that I deleted, and posted for her to try again.

Look, I feel horrible about this. While Joe and I don't get along, Joe hasn't done anything to warrant removal from the board, If Joe had starting doing shit, I would have talked to Plunderer for him to handle. But he didn't. It looks like he may have tried to make a new account, with a similar name, but that was nuked too. I just don't look when there's 200, and probably wouldn't have done differently with that one anyway, because the bot accounts do try to spoof current members names. But I can see the IPs - most aren't American.

So, Joe, I truly apologize, if you're still watching the board. I did NOT try to do anything to your account. If you come around and want to come back, make a new account, with your old moniker. I'll make you active, then ask a few questions via PM to make sure it's you. Then you're back.

And I apologize to everyone for this. Plunderer said he'd try to fix the problem with the board allowing these fake accounts after the semester is over.

And everyone, please don't post to anything else in the "all about you" forum for a while so Joe can see it. You can post to this thread if you wish.

As for BluDogDem, his account is still active, he was last here BEFORE Joe was deleted. He does tend to come and go.

One last thing - I don't WANT to be an admin or moderator. But we really don't have anyone else, and Plunderer has his own life that keeps him busy. So, it is what it is.
