Dreaming

Post by Number6 »

I'm a lucid dreamer. Lucid dreaming, in my words, means you're aware you're dreaming. I'm sure everyone has, at sometime, experienced lucid dream such as you wake up laughing. So what is lucid dreaming? According to WebMD:

Lucid dreams are when you know that you’re dreaming while you’re asleep.

You’re aware that the events flashing through your brain aren’t really happening. But the dream feels vivid and real. You may even be able to control how the action unfolds, as if you’re directing a movie in your sleep.

For me, my lucid dreams take four forms: 1. My dreams are like watching a movie and like regular movies I can figure out or discuss the movie. 2. I can interact with the dream taking an active role talking and doing things in the dream. 3. If the dream doesn't make sense to me or I'm having a bad dream (which I rarely have) I can stop and end the dream. 4. It could be a combination of any of the first three forms.

I actually enjoy lucid dreaming and I do it when I take naps as well as at nighttime. For me, it's like having another form of entertainment.

I've been a lucid dreamer for decades before I learned what the actual name of it is. I used to call it "Interactive Dreaming." I was talking with a woman, in her late 70s, at bowling about a dozen years ago and somehow we got onto dreams. I told her about my "Interactive Dreaming" and she said her late husband used to do that and she never understood how he did it.

So, does anyone have lucid dreams?
