No, it's not Trump but he does deserves honorable mention.

Man charged with terroristic threats for allegedly coughing on Wegmans worker

Quote:
A New Jersey man was charged with harassment and making terroristic threats after allegedly purposely coughing on a Wegmans grocery store employee and saying he had coronavirus.

George Falcone, 50, of Freehold, in the southern part of the state, was charged Tuesday by the New Jersey attorney general for allegedly making the threats on Sunday in a Wegmans supermarket in Manalapan.

Falcone was standing close to an employee near the store's prepared food section when the worker asked him to move back, the state attorney general said in a statement.

Instead, Falcone stepped closer to her, leaned in and coughed, the statement said. He laughed, telling the woman he was infected with coronavirus and also telling two other employees they are "lucky" to have jobs.

Pennsylvania grocery store loses estimated $35K in food after woman's 'twisted' coronavirus prank, co-owner says
Quote:
A grocery store in northeastern Pennsylvania had to throw away an estimated $35,000-worth of products after a woman went through the store coughing on food in what the store's co-owner called a "twisted prank."

The incident happened Wednesday at the Gerrity's Supermarket in Hanover Township, according to a post on the small chain's Facebook page. Co-owner Joe Fasula said a the woman "came into the store and proceeded to purposely cough on our fresh produce, and a small section of our bakery, meat case and grocery."

Fasula said the estimated value of the lost food is "well over $35,000." He added police are investigating and the district attorney's office is involved. Fasula added efforts are being made to have the woman tested for coronavirus, though she is not believed to be infected.

The Hanover Township Police Department confirmed it was investigating the incident in a Facebook post late Wednesday. The department said the woman has been identified and is being evaluated at a local hospital "for a mental health evaluation." Police said criminal charges will be filed in the incident.

As trillions of dollars were wiped off stock markets some of the world’s richest got lucky--

Other US executives that have been either lucky or smart by selling large chunks of their shareholdings in February include Larry Fink, the chief executive of fund manager BlackRock, who saved potential losses of $9m, and Lance Uggla, CEO of data firm IHS Markit, who sold $47m of shares on 19 February that would have dropped to $19m if he had held on to them.

In total US executives sold about $9.2bn in shares of the companies they run in the five weeks before the start of the stock market rout. Selling before the 30% collapse in the market saved them from paper loses of $1.9bn.

I made this post last night but it was at the end of a page and shortly after making it the page turned, so you may not have seen it.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28024&start=325#p473524

It relates to Boris Johnson because he led his nation right into the grinding wheels of the virus/people processing machine. Whatever the death toll factor for virus turns out to be, so goes the UK. They did not flatten the curve.

In a month, maybe six weeks, most of them who are still alive will be immune. :|

The reason I mentioned last nights post is because it's about the new second school of thought about this virus. I will refer to the virus modeling school of thought most prevalent in use as the Chinese school, and this new off shoot as the British school.

The British school assumes that the infected population numbers usually used are useless because of testing problems. The infected population is not known. But the death population is known.

That means the infected population can be inferred, however that data came in too late.

I found that abstract and model last night, and plugged in current numbers into the model today. I spot checked that model to see if it dealt with the data from nations all over the world. The British school model works for both the countries who have lost the war and it works for the ones who have not lost it.

The Chinese school model works for China, most of the world including the US so far, but it fails to deal with the numbers Italy, Spain, the UK, Iran, and a few more nations who are going to experience the worst. The ones who have lost the war.

New York is looking like it's going to experience the worst under the British school outlook, be the Wuhan of the West, but the western US might still be able to avoid that. And in the case of New York the medical care is still holding the death toll down to 0.01%, so far. That's really good.

The UK is doing ten time worse than New York's 0.2%, so far. But that's many times better than poor Italy is doing.

After checking out the new one, I've decided to use both the British and Chinese schools of thought. Use one to check the other and idle my confinement time away.

One thing about comparing them is to keep in mind the two schools use different death toll factors. The Chines system restricts the infected population statistics to a limited reality of reporting. The British school assumes the virus has already swept the UK and Italy, the two countries they focused upon. But the death toll factor they have estimated is greater than one order of magnitude smaller than the one the Chinese use. 0.1% compared to 3.4%.

This is all theory and modeling, it's not been proven, there's been no published study. What was published was an abstract, the model, and proposal for study.

One thing which would give wind to the British school would be fore Italy to peak and decline and have it all be over in the next week possibly ten days. With the UK following that trend a week maybe ten day after it's over in Italy.

They make spit wads and spit wad shooters for that. A bunch of people with them could show that feller that maybe the citizens didn't really mind the Governor doing that. Maybe he'd drop that lawsuit if he found out that people kind of like their skins, and would rather keep them intact.

:|

Have you ever read the Pushcart War, a novel by Jean Merrill? In it pushcart vendor's take up spit wad shooters and substitute a pea with a straight pin pushed through it instead of spit wads, to rebel against city hall and the trucking industry in New York because those trucks kept getting bigger and wider and were hanging over the sidewalks crunching their pushcarts all the time.

The had to do something about it.

:|

It was a cute children's story when I was a child. The pin through the pea wouldn't actually flatten a truck tire but I didn't know that when I was a child.

Man charged after New Jersey police break up alleged 'coronavirus party' with 47 people

Law enforcement in Ewing, N.J., reportedly broke up a party Friday night among 47 people in a small apartment, despite recommendations from health officials amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The department confirmed they received an anonymous call about the alleged party Friday evening. Officers immediately dispersed the gathering that “the renter of the apartment called a ‘Corona Party,'” according to a Saturday statement.

“I’ll be the oversight”: Trump claims he can gag Congress’s watchdog for coronavirus bailouts

This week the US Congress wrangled over how to ensure pandemic relief loans for corporations were given out responsibly. Under the final legislation, an independent watchdog is supposed to gather information for lawmakers about those loans and, if they get thwarted, let Congress know. That’s what negotiators from both parties decided on, and what the House and Senate both approved.

Yesterday Donald Trump announced that he was going to ignore all that.

One of few Kurt Russell movies I actually like, "The Thing" is very good as well.

One has to wonder if that critter would tried to duplicate 45 and would anyone have noticed.

Brooklyn woman, 86, dies after she’s knocked to the ground by stranger for violating coronavirus social distancing: police sources

The NYPD is investigating what might be the city’s first coronavirus-related homicide — after a woman hit an elderly Brooklyn hospital patient in the head for violating social distancing, sources said Sunday.

Victim Janie Marshall, 86, died less than four hours after the tense confrontation with 32-year-old Cassandra Lundy in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Woodhull Hospital, cops said.

The missing six weeks: how Trump failed the biggest test of his life---

The president was aware of the danger from the coronavirus – but a lack of leadership has created an emergency of epic proportions.

by Ed Pilkington and Tom McCarthy in New York

In the two months since that fateful day, the responses to coronavirus displayed by the US and South Korea have been polar opposites.

One country acted swiftly and aggressively to detect and isolate the virus, and by doing so has largely contained the crisis. The other country dithered and procrastinated, became mired in chaos and confusion, was distracted by the individual whims of its leader, and is now confronted by a health emergency of daunting proportions.

Within a week of its first confirmed case, South Korea’s disease control agency had summoned 20 private companies to the medical equivalent of a war-planning summit and told them to develop a test for the virus at lightning speed. A week after that, the first diagnostic test was approved and went into battle, identifying infected individuals who could then be quarantined to halt the advance of the disease.
Some 357,896 tests later, the country has more or less won the coronavirus war. On Friday only 91 new cases were reported in a country of more than 50 million.

The US response tells a different story. Two days after the first diagnosis in Washington state, Donald Trump went on air on CNBC and bragged: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

‘A fiasco of incredible proportions’ ----
A week after that, the Wall Street Journal published an opinion article by two former top health policy officials within the Trump administration under the headline Act Now to Prevent an American Epidemic. Luciana Borio and Scott Gottlieb laid out a menu of what had to be done instantly to avert a massive health disaster.
"Today, 86,012 cases have been confirmed in the US, pushing the nation to the top of the world’s coronavirus league table"----

Those missing four to six weeks are likely to go down in the definitive history as a cautionary tale of the potentially devastating consequences of failed political leadership. Today, 86,012 cases have been confirmed across the US, pushing the nation to the top of the world’s coronavirus league table – above even China.

NRA sues California officials for closing gun stores amid coronavirus outbreak

The National Rifle Association (NRA) and other pro-gun groups filed a lawsuit against California on Friday after the state forced gun stores to close under Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D) shelter-in-place order amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Under Newsom's order, these stores are considered nonessential. The complaint demands that gun shops in California be deemed essential and reopened.

Conservative pastor says coronavirus spread in synagogues is punishment from God

JTA — Rick Wiles, the Florida pastor who claimed that the effort to impeach US President Trump was a “Jew coup,” has said the spread of coronavirus in synagogues is a punishment of the Jewish people for opposing Jesus.

Wiles made the claim Wednesday on his TruNews broadcast.
