I keep on getting hit on to sub in bowling leagues. This morning, I subbed and I wasn't in the bowling center for five minutes before someone asked me to sub for them in December for a month while they're visiting family in the Philippines. I had to decline because I was asked the previous week to sub for the first three weeks in January on Monday and Wednesdays. While we were coordinating the dates another person came up asking if I could sub during the same time in January.
I guess I've made a good impression in these two leagues. Last week I found out I had won some money in the brackets and I didn't even enter them. It turns out one of the women in the league put paid the fee and put my name in the bracket pool, without my knowledge, so there would be an even number of players. After I found out I won I learned who entered my name and I refused to accept the winnings ($7). I don't play brackets in league because I don't want to put addition pressure on myself. Brackets are run like the March Madness brackets in that you're matched to another bowler and if you beat them you go to the second bracket where you're matched to a winner in the first bracket. Winners in the second bracket go against each other and the highest score plus handicap wins.
