Re: ICE
Ice agents use pepper spray and smoke grenades to disperse LA protesters
The Department of Homeland Security conducted raids on multiple locations across Los Angeles on Friday, clashing with the crowds of people who gathered to protest.
Masked agents were recorded pulling several people out of two LA-area Home Depot stores and the clothing manufacturer Ambient Apparel’s headquarters in LA’s Fashion District. Immigration advocates said the raids also included four other locations, including a doughnut shop.

Re: ICE
The LA attack started yesterday. The Latino community, including its political leaders such as congress and city council members, is all over it. LAPD immediately went on alert, and politicians are on the Nooz begging for peaceful resistance as opposed to another one of those infamous LA race riots.
It's big, and shows a lot of advance planning. Quite a few Federal agencies besides ICE are involved. The usual tactics are used, with masked and heavily armed Gestapo swooping in en masse and rapidly disappearing employees seemingly at random. One big difference is that it appears to have been greatly scaled up from the targeted hits we've seen before. They were all over parts of LA that even residents have barely heard of, and all at once.
If they sweep through the whole LA garment industry, it's going to get epic. It's probably one of the biggest employers of undocumented workers this side of New York. The Central Valley is another one, but they'll never go after that since it's now owned by the same kind of companies that paid for Trump's campaign in the first place. Drumpf has to settle for defunding the infamous high speed rail project, which is decades behind schedule and in the real world would never have been finished anyway. A zillion dollars of CA tax money went for nothing.
The Latino community has been in full resistance mode since election returns came in. They have blocked streets, occupied the city hall steps, and disrupted traffic, notably at the Grammys. LA is not going fascist without a fight.

Re: ICE
Now in full rumble status. ICE busted a Home Depot in some obscure part of LA that even I would have to find on the map. The locals descended on the scene en masse, and now tear gas and nonlethal weapons are deployed. A crowd rushed the bus that was engaged in making Latinos disappear, and the show was on. Nooz is ignoring it so don't even try. Had it happened in Beverly Hills they'd have 7 vans and 4 helicopters covering it, but it didn't so who cares? KNX radio is covering it, otherwise it has gone down Orwell's famous Memory Hole.

Not very good but everyone else is afraid to cover it at all. They're all covering what Trump thinks of it instead. To save your time, I'll pass along that he's threatening to cut off any Federal funding to CA that he can get his hands on.

Los Angeles is now an occupied zone. 2000 National Guard have been mobilized to keep order during a series of ICE raids which Trump says will last at least a month.
Literally, LA is now a colony.
Trump has also taken on the governor, who has made no secret that he wants to run for president. He's threatening to cut off all Federal aid to the state.

And here as well
Rough arrests by ICE agents unfold inside Manhattan federal courthouse amid Trump crackdown
Two people were pinned to the ground and arrested by ICE agents who were waiting in the hallways outside federal immigration courtrooms as a blitz of migrant arrests at courthouses continued in lower Manhattan Friday.
Over a dozen federal agents, some hiding their faces with neck gaiters or medical masks, stood talking in small groups on the 12th floor at 26 Federal Plaza for several hours Friday morning.

Hegseth is threatening to send Marines to Los Angeles.
This is of dubious legality, but since we the people have placed the whole Executive branch above the law (big change from Watergate), I doubt anything would happen legally if he did that.
The situation is grave. We're talking full-out fascism here.

Hegseth says he's gonna send the Marines. I don't know how they can legally do this without invoking the Insurrection Act nationwide. If they do invoke it, the US is no longer a democracy. The coup d'etat is complete.

Re: ICE
Apparently Hegseth* is sending in the Marines, though the justification seems illusory at best and illegal at worst. I doubt it would stand up to a case before SCOTUS, were SCOTUS not corrupted by the same oligarchy that bought the election.
Note that the Marines apparently have no mission, and they're only there to show force at staging areas. I think this is called saber rattling when Russia does it.
Yesterday the assembled air and ground assets of the Nooz spent the entire day with four helicopters and countless ground personnel watching about 100 protesters staring down about 200 cops. The federalized National Guard lurked off camera. At one point a DJ van was allowed in, and the Nooz showed all the "dangerous thugs" dancing and laughing.
The governor continues in combat mode. He's doing everything except promoting a cage fight with Trump. That guy shows me some hair. He's got my vote for Potus if he runs.
The mayor of LA was on Rachel Maddow. She's pissed.
This won't end well. I suspect LA may become a lost colony.

So this is how this whole mess got started a disgruntled employee who was fired from his job & he called ICE to step in
Riot police, anti-ICE protesters square off in Los Angeles after raids
LOS ANGELES, June 6 (Reuters) - Helmeted police in riot gear turned out on Friday evening in a tense confrontation with protesters in downtown Los Angeles, after a day of federal immigration raids in which dozens of people across the city were reported to be taken into custody.
Live Reuters video showed Los Angeles Police Department officers lined up on a downtown street wielding batons and what appeared to be tear gas rifles, facing off with demonstrators after authorities had ordered crowds of protesters to disperse around nightfall.

Re: ICE
This whole mess got started when jack-booted body-armored and masked secret police raided something or other. No one is quite sure what. At the start, the rumor was that they were sweeping up the day laborers who hang around every Home Depot looking for work. These guys aren't all wetbacks, but they do tend to be Spanish speaking, and so the conservatives who took over our country when we weren't looking figure they're all undocumented workers at best and dangerous drug gangsters at worst. Mostly that worst thing. Conservatives like to jump to the wildest ideas that they can scare themselves and others with by spouting them at any opportunity. Don't forget that our current freely (?) elected president says they eat pet cats.
These rumors turned out to be bogus. The raids were at some corporate warehouse type places that I forget the names of. However, the angry response gave a bunch of pols who turn purple at the very idea of California get their show on the road. Expensive show. You pay for it.
Note that there had already been a large protest scheduled for that day, so a lot of the people downtown when it started were there to peacefully exercise their right to redress of grievances. Very few, if any, of the original demonstrators were undocumented workers. Not even the union leader who the Feds worked over, injured, and carted off to the big house (he's since gotten out).
There is no rebellion in LA. A few of the usual troublemakers saw a chance to cover everything with graffiti, the way they always do, so we the taxpayers could (once again) pay for painting over it. Once the troops and cops and Nooz started up, some other folks got inspired to block the freeway, which is civil disobedience LA style. Later on, when it was clear that hundreds of cops, news reporters, et al were all there looking for something to get them started, some bozo called up Waymo on their cell phone(*) and burned the driverless cars (which cost about a megabuck each) when they got there. That's probably when Hegseth decided he needed the Marines (even though it's completely unconstitutional). That's why violence against property is such a stupid idea, unless you are consciously trying to start something you can't finish.
The other thousand people in the street were singing songs and carrying signs, mostly said hurray for our side. Oh, also some Mexican flags. That, briefly, became illegal in The Land of the Free.
------------
Yesterday, nothing happened at all. The four news helicopters, two cop helicopters, one CHP fixed-wing, and hundreds of assembled Nooz media spent the afternoon watching about 75 people listening to a DJ van. Pretty dangerous, that. Send the Marines! Quick!!!!!!
From the halls of Montezuma, to the streets of old LA.
Insanity.
------
*DO NOT use your cell phone at events of this type. Best is to leave it at home, barring that at least turn it off. Don't take pictures with it. There's a device called a camera for that. Every cell phone carries as much instrumentation as a spacecraft, and it tracks your every move. They'll trace the idiots who called the Waymos and they'll be off to the Big House. Serves them right, too.
