Man accused of robbing, zip tying woman while pretending to be ICE officer

In a press conference on Monday, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office revealed more information about the man accused of pretending to be an ICE agent when he robbed a business and zip tied a woman. While announcing the charges, District Attorney Larry Krasner had strong words for President Donald Trump.

Usually with the Middle East it's about religion, but the US border thing is more about a bogus economic theory that employing immigrants depresses wages. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved a program to train small businesses and employees on their rights in the event of an ICE raid.

The county Board of Supervisors Tuesday voted 4-1 in favor of a program to train owners and employees of small businesses about their rights in the event of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid.

"Small businesses shouldn't have to fear being shut down by government overreach if they have played by the rules," she said. "We're working to protect constitutional rights, uphold due process, and make sure federal fear-mongering doesn't threaten lives and livelihoods, or destabilize San Diego's economy."

Small businesses account for nearly 380,000 businesses in San Diego County, many of them immigrant-owned and operating on thin margins, a statement from Lawson-Remer's office read.

Her proposal "focuses on workplace stability, legal compliance, and dignity for working families in the face of unprecedented ICE activity," she said.

Forced to eat the day's only meal "like a dog," with their hands shackled behind their back. Detained for days with nothing but shoes for a pillow and no other bedding ‒ just cold, concrete floors and constant fluorescent lighting. Medical care that denied a man with diabetes insulin for a week and may have contributed to at least one death.

A Human Rights Watch report says three Miami immigrant detention facilities have subjected people to conditions so inhumane they have become, at times, life-threatening. Many ICE detention facilities are becoming overcrowded and conditions are deteriorating, according to the July 21 report.

The report, which drew from the testimonials of 17 detainees, examined conditions since President Donald Trump took office in January. Investigators say conditions at the Krome North Processing Center, Federal Detention Center and Broward Transitional Center flout international law on holding people in immigrant detention and federal government standards.....

ICE to purchase AI tech that scans eyes to increase deportations

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement is planning to purchase AI technology allowing them to scan retinas and identify people to deport.

The tech uses an app that allows agents to snap a photo of someone’s eye 10-15 inches away. Then, it will compare that photo to ones already in their system and even on social media.

NYC didn’t advise jail staff of ‘sanctuary’ rules against tipping off ICE, report says

NEW YORK — Even as Mayor Eric Adams was inviting federal immigration officials onto Rikers Island, his administration failed to give Department of Correction staff basic training about city rules limiting disclosure of information on undocumented people held in the jails, a new watchdog report states.

Administration officials began publicly floating reopening the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office on Rikers as early as December, around the time Adams met with Border Czar Tom Homan. But the city Department of Investigation found DOC did not give any guidance to jails staff on the rules for information disclosure.

Criminal investigation launched after feds fire pepper ball at CBS Chicago reporter's truck

The Village of Broadview said they've launched a criminal investigation after a CBS News Chicago reporter had a projectile fired at her vehicle by an ICE agent late Sunday morning.

Reporter Asal Rezaei said there was no active protest or protesters at the facility, and she was alone with no one around her at the time of the incident.
