This thread is dedicated the ongoing fight for LGBTQ Rights in the United States and around the World.

First up - Former Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis.

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watc ... ex-couples.

A Kentucky federal judge on Friday ruled that former county clerk Kim Davis violated two gay couples' constitutional rights when she repeatedly denied them a marriage license.

U.S. Judge David Bunning in the Eastern District of Kentucky found Davis guilty of violating the constitutional rights of the plaintiffs in the case, David Ermold and David Moore, and James Yates and Will Smith, according to the court document. The matter will likely go to trial to determine the damages.

In his ruling, Bunning said Davis purposely evaded the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court ruling Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage in the U.S.

Good.

These dirty cons are building their vicious brand on bullying children and families.

Then they call themselves pro-life and pro-family and for parent’s rights.

You forgot to add Conservative Republican Judge David Bunning appointed by President George W Bush and son of baseball HOF pitcher and late Conservative US Senator Jim Bunning was the judge who made the ruling

Conservatives are not owed anything.

Conservatives are currently passing anti-gay and especially anti-trans laws is legislatures across the country, and it’s not like you guys ever stopped.

Anti-LGBTQ ideology is basic to the predatory social conservatism that stinks up your party and that’s why you vote for it.

Conservative Republicans are predators.

Glenn thinks “minorities” ought to be grateful for their predation.

Disney employees across the U.S. are walking out today. Here's why. - NBC News
"We have been forced into an impossible and unsustainable position," LBGTQ employees said in a statement.

Walt Disney Co. employees at corporate locations across the U.S. got up from their desks and headed to the exits Tuesday to protest CEO Bob Chapek's response to Florida legislation that LGBTQ advocates have dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" bill.

Hundreds of protesters marched outside Disney's headquarters in Burbank on Tuesday afternoon, with some toting signs (#DisneyDoBetter) and others chanting slogans such as "Say gay!"

"It was amazing to see everyone out here in support of all of our queer employees and their families," said Nora Rogers, a production supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Throughout the day, several Disney employees also expressed solidarity with the protesters on social media.

In recent weeks, Chapek has come under intense internal criticism and public scrutiny for not having taken a more forceful stand against HB 1557, a bill that would prohibit instruction about "sexual orientation or gender identity" in kindergarten through the third grade in Florida.

Chapek drew pointed criticism for saying in a companywide memo March 7 that the corporation can make the "biggest impact" by "creating a more inclusive world through the inspiring content we produce."

The corporation's position on the bill appeared to be especially galling to some of the tens of thousands of Disney employees in Florida, home to the sprawling Walt Disney World theme park and resort in Orlando.

Chapek, who ascended to the throne of the Magic Kingdom in 2020, apologized directly to employees in a letter released March 11.

"It is clear that this is not just an issue about a bill in Florida, but instead yet another challenge to basic human rights. You needed me to be a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights and I let you down," Chapek said in the letter. "I am sorry."
F. an I am sorry.

Do better.

I'm confused. I think the LA Times may have gotten the story wrong?

Second transgender judge named to California Superior Court - ABC 10
A disability rights advocate will become the second openly transgender person to serve as a California judge after being appointed Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Andi Mudryk, 58, chief deputy director at the Department of Rehabilitation, will serve on the Sacramento County Superior Court.

She follows in the path of Alameda Superior Court Judge Victoria Kolakowski, who became the first openly transgender judge after being elected in 2010.
Maybe it's that Mudryk was appointed and Kolakowski was elected? Anyway, congratulations to Judge Murdryk.

Judge Mudryk was appointed. Judge Kokakowski was elected. Kolakowski had a tight race and was NOT considered to an odds on fav to win.

India's first openly gay prince endured years of torturous conversion therapy. Now, he's fighting to make the practice illegal. - Insider International

Good!
• In 2006, Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil came out to a local newspaper, becoming India's first openly gay prince.

• He endured years of conversion therapy — including electroshock treatments — and was publicly disowned by his family.

Today, he is fighting to make conversion therapy illegal, and works to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in the country.
Good!!!

GLAAD Media Awards: Wilson Cruz to Receive Vito Russo Award for LGBTQ Advocacy - Hollywood Reporter
In 1994, Cruz became the first openly gay actor to play an openly gay role on network television when he starred as Rickie Vasquez on ABC's 'My So-Called Life.'

“When books are written about actors coming out, Wilson Cruz belongs on the front cover,” said GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “Wilson has dedicated his life and career to breaking down walls for LGBTQ and Latinx actors and has not only entertained audiences as a triple threat, but educated the world about LGBTQ people and issues. He raises the bar for how actors can and should play roles in social justice by always using his voice loudly to demand acceptance of LGBTQ people and Black and Latinx communities.”
Good! He is such a cutie.

Opinion Piece From The Kansas City Star:

EDITORIAL: Can A Cartoon Character Turn You LGBTQ? Kansas’ Sen. Roger Marshall Seems To think So.

https://nordot.app/897781593768706048?c ... 7532812385.

It’s becoming clearer by the day that the Republican Party is betting that animus toward LGBTQ Americans is a big winner this election year. Now Kansas’ junior senator is taking his culture war fight to Hollywood — and making it about kids.

Roger Marshall led four fellow GOP senators in sending a letter to the board of the TV Parental Guidelines — a congressionally mandated consortium that provides content ratings for television shows — asking it to update its criteria for the warnings it puts on children’s programming. Citing “parents raising legitimate concerns on sexual orientation and gender identity content on children’s TV shows,” the letter evokes “the motivations of hypersexualized entertainment producers striving to push this content on young audiences,” calling the creators “suspect at best and predatory at worst.”

Pretty heavy charges. When a Star reporter asked for a list of this nefarious programming, the examples included Netflix’s cartoon “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” and Nickelodeon’s “Danger Force.” Also, a Pixar job listing for an actor and the fact that Disney airs a public service ad.

Oh Dear.....Oh My.....Does that Yogi and Boo Boo were Gay?

He should ask all us people who grew up queer whether watching every single character on 60s/70s/80s/90s/00s/10s tee vee being heterosexual made us heterosexual. :problem:

Or if watching monsters on Sesame Street or superheroes on Saturday morning made them into fuzzy beings with gravelly voices, or made them able to fly if they put on a cape.

The state of Mississippi banned Sesame Street for promoting racemixing. This is when they were led by the White Citizens Council, and the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission ruled the roost.

Mississippi Agency Votes for a TV Ban On ‘Sesame Street’ - NYT, 1970
JACKSON, Miss., May 2 — The State Commission for Educational Television has vetoed the showing of “Sesame Street,” regarded as one of the leading pre‐school educational tele vision series, on the state ETV system because of racial grounds.

A member of the commission said, “Some of the members of the commission were very much opposed to showing the series because it uses a highly integrated cast of children.”

The same member who asked not to be identified said, “Mainly the commission members felt that Mississippi was not yet ready for it.”

Four members of the commission, which was recently created by the State Legislature, were appointed by Gov. John Bell Williams. The commission was believed to have split to 2 against allowing the television series to be shown.

Free Choice Backed

Heading the commission is James McKay, a young Jackson banker, who is the son‐in‐law of former Mayor Allen Thompson of Jackson. Mr. Thompson is president and leading spokes man for FOCUS, a new group in Mississippi that is seeking to re‐establish the principle of “freedom of choice” in public schools.
Today, the same types are banning trans people and their families in that state, with one of their vile lawmakers calling for the firing squad for people who support transgender rights.

Ex-GOP Gov Candidate Calls For ‘Firing Squad’ For Trans Rights Supporters, Political Foes - Mississippi Free Press

White conservative culture is the cancel culture.

They did this and still do this today under the masquerade of "choice" and free dumb.

Same old dishonest, self-gaslighting, double-speaking conservative whites, different millennium. :problem:

Which had he ruled against LBGT and I am sure you would have.
