Texas woman is sentenced to 3 years in prison for threatening judge overseeing Trump documents case

HOUSTON (AP) — A Texas woman was sentenced Friday to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of threatening a Florida judge who is overseeing the criminal case against former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.

Tiffani Gish, 50, of Houston, pleaded guilty in November to threatening U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon. The Justice Department said Gish left voicemails threatening to kill the judge while claiming to be a member of several military combat units. She was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

Hungary’s president resigns over a pardon to a man convicted in a child sexual abuse case

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungary’s conservative president resigned Saturday amid public outcry over a pardon she granted to a man convicted as an accomplice in a child sexual abuse case, a decision that unleashed an unprecedented political scandal for the long-serving nationalist government.

Katalin Novák, 46, announced in a televised message that she would step down from the presidency, an office she has held since 2022. Her decision came after more than a week of public outrage after it was revealed that she issued a presidential pardon in April 2023 to a man convicted of hiding a string of child sexual abuses in a state-run children’s home.

They are lying as they probably already don't go to NYC. Personally I do not deliver to NYC or California but it has nothing to do with politics.
Plus
Company drivers for the most part go where they are told. With many carriers giving drivers an option on NYC and California loads.

Walmart to acquire Vizio in $2.3 billion deal

Walmart is planning to acquire TV maker Vizio in a deal valued at approximately $2.3 billion. Rumors of the deal emerged last week, and now the retail giant says the acquisition is official and part of a move to boost its ad business.

“The acquisition of Vizio and its SmartCast Operating System (OS) would enable Walmart to connect with and serve its customers in new ways including innovative television and in-home entertainment and media experiences,” says Walmart in a press release. “It would also create new opportunities to help advertisers connect with customers, empowering brands with differentiated and compelling opportunities to engage at scale and to realize greater impact from their advertising spend with Walmart.”

My freightliner broke down sitting in my driveway during my 10 week vacation. Long story but the short version is the bill was $5399. So on the advice of a friend I hustled uo an American Airlines credit card. Paid the Bill and received 50 000 AA points.
Takes 25000 to fly to the UK one way. Guess who is going to Europe in 2025.
Provided the truck doesn't keep breaking down.

Me! No. Wait. I'm going to Europe in 2024.

Ignore that, then.

Back to Germany. I liked German. People are nice, if not a bit reserved. People refuse to make eye contact while on public transportation. It was weird.

Last time I was in Germany was late September 2021. Hopefully, that month is free of any issues. Chocolate cake there put any cake here to utter shame.

So we're losers big whoop don't let the door hit you in the ass Kevin Shark Tank is a joke anyway. 👋

Kevin O’Leary says he will no longer invest in ‘loser’ New York after Trump verdict

“Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary ripped into what he called “loser” New York and vowed to no longer invest in the state, when asked about a New York court’s $355 million verdict against former President Trump last week.

Trump, his business and his top executives — including the former president’s sons — were dealt a major blow last Friday when Judge Arthur Engoron ordered him to pay more than $355 million for conspiring to alter his net worth to receive tax and insurance benefits. The order also blocks Trump from participating in New York business for three years.

The German people are reserved with foreigners but amongst other Germans they're as friendly as anyone else. The key for an American visiting Germany is to try to learn some of the German language and customs before going there. If the Germans you encounter see that you're making an effort to communicate with them in their own language they'll open up to you and you'll be amazed how well the speak English. The same goes for most of Europe. In some cases, the Europeans would rather speak to you in English than in their language regardless of how proficient you are in their language. They do this because it gives them a chance to practice their English.

As for German not making eye contact on a train reminds me of something a college professor told out class about his trip to Europe in the early 70s. He said he took a train from France to Germany and the Germans of the train were like a lot of people in that they would get comfortable and slump/slouch in their seats. Once they crossed the border into Germany, they would immediately sit up. Then again, it depends upon the setting you're in. I took a Rhine-A-Flame tour which is a party boat holding about 100 people going down the Rhine River. The bottom deck was enclosed and that's where the Germans were drinking beer and signing. It didn't matter that about half the boat was made up of Americans, they were having a good time.

The only problem I had in Germany was the food. It is sooooo good it's almost sinful. I loved the Sweet Bread and pastries. In fact, I think France is overrated on their pastries because, IMO, the Germans easily outdo them.
