I saw Phantom of the Opera in London in the 90s and I wasn't impressed by it. Of all the musicals I attended back then the one I was most impressed by, and still am, is Les Miserables.ap215 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 7:43 pm It’s been an amazing run best wishes to the cast & crew of Phantom of the Opera.
'Phantom of the Opera' is closing on Broadway
The Broadway show The Phantom of the Opera will close after nearly 35 years, Time Out’s sources said on Friday afternoon. The show is slated to close in February.
Broadway's longest-running show, Phantom has delighted audiences at 13,733 performances since it opened in 1988, per the New York Post, which broke news of the closing earlier today. But the Post also reported the show has struggled since the pandemic and is losing "some $1 million a month."

My parents saw Les Miserables many years ago they said the same i'm with you Numbers nothing against POTO but Les Miserables hands down wins by a mile.
Re: Bye
I bought the London stage version of Les Miserables CD soundtrack and I've listened to it for years. After seeing it in London, I decided to read the book, the unabridged version which is about 1500 pages, and the story is even more amazing. Since then, I've read it about three more times and it's still the best book I've ever read.

Pat Sajak announces his retirement from Wheel of Fortune. He's been the host for the show for 41 years.
All good things must come to an end, including beloved game show hosts retiring. It looks like Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune fame may be calling it quits after more than 40 years of hosting. Sajak has been hosting Wheel of Fortune since 1981 along with his co-host Vanna White, who joined the show in 1982.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Pat Sajak had this to say about his potential retirement: ” It’s been a long [time]. We’re not going to do this for another 40 years. The end is near,” adding “It’s an honor to have been in people’s living rooms for that long.”
While Pat Sajak might miss being on Wheel of Fortune, fans will undoubtedly miss the host after his retirement. At the very least, they can expect to see Sajak, and the show’s new puzzle board, for at least one more season, as he and White have both renewed their contracts through 2024. Also, fans won’t miss out on Sajak’s Wheel of Fortune antics entirely, as he plans to stay on for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which will be entering its third season.

Spirit Airlines employees charged in $238,000 reservation scheme
Three former Spirit Airlines employees were charged this week with a scheme to profit off passengers looking to get cheaper flights.
The indictment from the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleges that two Pennsylvania-based reservation agents and their supervisor would encourage travelers to book cheap future flights, then alter their reservation to a more expensive flight for free without charging the airline's change fee. Instead, the indictment says, the agents would charge customers a "commission" via CashApp and pocket those funds.

Project Veritas loses suit to political consulting firm Democratic Partners and has to pay them $120,000.
A federal jury has found Project Veritas, a conservative group often accused of using deceptive tactics, liable for violating wiretapping laws and misrepresenting itself in an undercover effort to target Democratic political consultants.
Jurors in Washington on Thursday awarded $120,000 to a member of Democracy Partners, co-founded by self-described progressive strategist Robert Creamer.
Democracy Partners claimed it had been infiltrated by a Project Veritas operative who lied about her name and background to obtain an internship during the 2016 presidential campaign, and secretly recorded conversations while working there.
The firm and Creamer said Project Veritas used "heavily edited" footage in videos that falsely suggested they conspired to incite violence at then-Republican candidate Donald Trump's rallies and schemed to promote voter fraud.
According to the complaint, the espionage cost the plaintiffs, who supported Trump's Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, at least $500,000 of contracts.

Freedom of speech isn't free. Each and everyone of us is responsible for what we say and when someone or some organization, like Project Veritas, lies then they need to be held responsible for what they said. In this case, their lies caused the plaintiffs money and now Project Veritas is responsible to pay the plaintiffs the money they lost.

James Earl Jones Officially Retires As Star Wars' Darth Vader
An icon is putting his time in a franchise to bed as James Earl Jones has officially retired as Star Wars' Darth Vader. The Oscar winner first debuted as the iconic Star Wars villain in the original 1977 film, giving voice to the Sith Lord while David Prowse physically portrayed the character. Jones would provide most follow-up voice performances for Darth Vader on both the big and small screen in the franchise.
With the future of the Star Wars franchise primarily focused on the small screen, thanks to the success of The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi, with other projects in the works including Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka, Jude Law's Skeleton Crew, Leslye Headland's The Acolyte and Justin Simien's Lando. Given the majority of these shows are set around the timeline of the original Star Wars trilogy, fans of the franchise have been eager to see a variety of major names and characters return to the fold. While Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian have seen the likes of Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen and Mark Hamill all reprise their iconic roles, it appears one major star is bidding farewell to their character.
