My condolences Mike

Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer’s brother died in a car accident during their first-round playoff series loss to the Miami Heat, he confirmed to The Athletic on Friday.

Budenholzer, 53, is one of seven children, and the youngest of four brothers. It’s unclear which of his three brothers died, or what specifically happened in the car accident. Budenholzer’s brother died just before Game 4 of the Bucks' series.

More firearm deaths than car accident deaths.

More likely to be killed by a gun than in a car accident.

So true and so sad. If we could only get criminals to give up their weapons.

Oh? And what of the man who went to the bank and shot those people dead. He wasn't a criminal. He was a law-abiding citizen. No record at all.

Cardinals legend Mike Shannon dies at 83

Thomas Michael Shannon might have been the best high school athlete ever produced in the St. Louis area. While at CBC, Shannon was the Missouri high school player of the year in both football and basketball, believed to be the only time that has happened in state history.

Shannon, who died late Saturday night, went on to the University of Missouri, where he was a star there on the freshman football team — freshmen couldn’t play on the varsity team then. His coach then, Frank Broyles, later said that if Shannon had stayed in school he might have won the Heisman Trophy, awarded to college football’s top player.

Tim Bachman, Bachman-Turner Overdrive Member, Dead at 71

Tim Bachman, a co-founding guitarist and vocalist of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, has died, PEOPLE can confirm. He was 71.

Tim's son, Paxton Bachman, said in a Facebook post on Friday that his father — who originally played in BTO from 1973 until 1974, before reuniting with the group a decade later — died following complications with cancer "throughout his brain."

Wow, this one hurts. Bad. But I really can’t complain, 84 is a good run.

But he was such a part of my teen years. I’ll be playing his music all day long.

My favorite was Don Quixote, but I loved all his music.

Also Canadian Railroad Trilogy. That may be what I’m playing today.

He was still performing up until recently and I was debating whether I should go see him but never got around to it.

I'm only familiar with his song Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald which is a beautiful and haunting song about the loss of a ship called the Edmund Fitzgerald. The music, the words, and his voice on this song was mesmerizing.

My friend, I highly recommend you hear more of him. You may not know, but he wrote Ribbon of Darkness, which was a big Marty Robbins hit. I recommend Gord's Gold, which was a double album set, with all his hits and more - not a bad song on it. Fitzgerald isn't on it, as it was released a year after this album. You should listen to the Canadian Railroad Trilogy, a six plus minute song about building the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was commissioned by the Canadian government for the Canadian centennial in 1967.

I listened to Gord's Gold last night. I'd almost put it in the easy listening genre. I forgot he had Carefree Highway.
I also liked Ministrel of the Dawn, Don Quixote, and Old Dan's Records.

I picked-up Gord's Gold II[i/] and I'll listen to it over the weekend.

Thanks for the recommendation.

You're welcome! He's really a folkie, the seventies were full of them - Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens, John Denver, all singer/songwriters. It was a golden time.

I remember all of them. Jim Croce's widow ran a restaurant in downtown San Diego for a number of years after his death. It closed years ago. I still love listening to John Denver's songs and his death was a loss to music.
