California Liberals Outlaw my Business and.....

Post by Glennfs »

put 70,000 people out of work....or classic I am from the government and I am here to help.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/u ... dd989b75ee

Unless the California supreme courts rule against the liberals my business would be illegal in California if I lived there and I would have about a week to close shop. All because I am an independent contractor. By choice mind you, nobody is forcing me or any other person to be an independent contractor in trucking or any other field.
But, of course the government knows what is better for me so of course they have to take away my rights and my freedom to choose to do what I want to do. So much for liberals being pro-choice.
Just another reason why as a general rule I do not vote for liberals or for democrats who will have to cowtow to the liberal extremist who control the democratic party.
California's extremist liberal state government is on the eve of putting 70,000 people out of work........because they care so much about working families.

This isn't about SCOTUS it is about the lefr wing extremists which control California.

A person could make an argument about abortion on moral grounds if nothing else. Also SCOTUS did not ban abortion. This is about an out of control leftist state putting 70,000 families out of work.
Want to know why? Because the legislator who spearheaded this family is the largest Taxi company in San Diego and he didn't like getting competition from UBER

Yes, it is. The CONSERVATIVE SCOTUS refused to hear the case. The two are connected. You just don’t like it. You hoped the SCOTUS would hear and reverse the case and when they refused to hear it you absolved the conservative assholes.

I don’t use Uber. I hope I never, ever, have to use Uber. Uber is unregulated taxis. We saw assaults committed by Uber drivers and Uber, the lying sacks of shit that they are, trying to claim they were just an app with no responsibility. Uber claimed it was friends giving friends rides which was a flat out lie. The gig economy is what conservatives want. Its endgame is even more concentration of wealth in the hands of the few.

Now, regarding truckers. Too damn bad. They can go move somewhere else just like conservatives say when they do something liberals don’t like.

Two, it isn’t an out of control leftist state. You are full of crap. You don’t like it, don’t live there. I don’t like states run by conservatives particularly when they engage in dubious if not outright criminal activity to hold power. I am looking to leave Ohio unless something changes. The old confederacy can go to hell for all I care.

Three, regarding abortion the SCOTUS was well aware of the trigger laws established by out of control (don’t like when someone borrows your bullshit?) fascist state governments run by Republican religionist thugs. Furthermore, the rationale was bullshit. As for the majority opinion claiming that the constitution doesn’t mention abortion that is absolute bullshit. How much stuff isn’t mentioned in the Constitution? The list would be endless.

If the ultra-conservative Supreme Court had a problem, they would have taken the case, wouldn't they? Doesn't sound to me like you have much of a case.

Glenn, I'm too well informed and too nice to call your state a white dominated corporate slave plantation, so please stop calling California a far-left People's Republic, OK? It's just as bad an oversimplification.

For an explanation of what AB5 is and why it was passed ...

https://www.investopedia.com/california ... b5-4773201

It was mainly meant to prevent a variety of companies from incorrectly classifying employees /"gig workers" as independent contractors, so they would be denied benefits.

It neither targets nor was meant to take away jobs from the trucking industry. It does not outlaw trucking in California, not even trucking by independent contractors who establish they are, really, independent contractors. Not people defined as such in shady ways by their industry employers to avoid providing proper working conditions and benefits.

I go back to the early period when we still thought AM radio talk shows could make a difference, and that's a generation ago now. For the whole time, Glenn has been frothing about how California is a commie plot to overthrow common sense. I've had it. I don't call his state what a lot of more narrow minded people call it. I am only asking for the same common courtesy.

Oh, and the idea of California banning the current trucking system is somewhere between delusional and downright silly. It's only about gig workers, who comprise a huge and growing portion of the supply chain.

He buys into all that "left coast" mythology. He's apparently never heard of the John Birch Society, which came close to taking over the state at one point, or a guy named Ray Gun who made it cool to be conservative for a long time, or the Klan leafleting in Huntington Beach right up until the present.

I could do the same thing for his state, but I am (1) smarter than that, and (2) too nice a guy.

Panic! Panic! There's panic in the streets because of this. Or maybe you just don't know what you're talking about.

First, the California Supreme Court ruled in 2018 in Dynamex Operations West, Inc. vs. Superior Court of Los Angeles companies must use a three-prone test to determine if workers are independent contractors or employees. The test considers the work an employee if:
1. The worker is free to perform services without the control or direction of the company.
2. The worker is performing work tasks that are outside the usual course of the company’s business activities.
3. The worker is customarily engaged in an independently established trade, occupation, or business of the same nature as that involved in the work performed.

https://www.investopedia.com/california ... b5-4773201

Second, from your link, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to take up the case as requested by the California Trucking Association.

What the California Supreme Court did was to establish a test to determine if a worker was an employee or an independent contractor. Assembly Bill 5 was passed to apply to gig workers as well as to carve out exemptions for certain workers like real estate agents and insurance agents.

Oh, now it's the whole Democratic Party. Well that's better than blaming California for all the world's problems. Not much better, but better.

Glenn's exposed our dark secret. We're all loony anarchists. When he's not looking, we put on black uniforms with pointy hats and throw little round bombs at everybody. Woooooo - eeeeeeee - oooooooooooooo. Arise, ye prisoners of starvation, arise ye wretched of the Earth............

Funny, no one ever told the population of just about any area south of Fresno and east of the Coast Range that.

Really, then please list five personnel freedoms you have that we don’t have here in California. I’ll hum the Jeopardy theme while awaiting your list. Of course, I may be humming for a couple of days before you come back with a non-answer answer.

So all 70,000 truck drivers are married or in a relationship that constitutes a “family?” There are no single head of household who are truck drivers? Do you think before you post because it doesn’t appear to be the case.

We’ll, in our defense, we’re not the one’s carrying the Tiki Torches or attacking the Capitol Building because the presidential election didn’t go our way. It’s his party that support these people.

Well, to be fair to him, he does not know what any of those words or terms mean.

He proves that every single time he calls us what he calls us. This is not meant to be a criticism of him, it is a simple fact that is proven here daily.

Those aren't the only words or terms he does not understand.

BTW, right now the leader of his party is supporting Putin while Putin murders children.

Yo Glenn, don't stop at forced labor unions, we want to put you all in labor camps. Don't you know? We are all secret allies of North Korea. After we secede, we will all march around in funny uniforms carrying giant pictures of Nancy Pelosi.

Surely one of your AM radio heroes has said that by now.
