Authorities in rural Putnam County, Fla., have found the body of Jose Lara, the 1-year-old boy who disappeared on Sunday afternoon while playing in the family's backyard.

Country singer C.W. McCall has died at age 93. He's best remembered for the cross-over hit Convoy in the 70s during the CB craze.
C.W. McCall, an adman who found fame as a country music singer with songs about 18-wheelers, including the 1976 crossover No. 1 “Convoy,” has died at 93. According to his son Bill Fries III, McCall had been battling cancer and was in hospice care in his Colorado home when he died Friday, April 1.

“Breaker one-nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck,” McCall intoned in the novelty hit “Convoy,” a song that celebrated CB radios and the community of long-haul truck drivers who used them. Released in November 1975, the spoken-word saga would top both the country and pop charts the next year, sell more than 2 million copies, inspire a 1978 movie of the same name starring Kris Kristofferson, and help add jargon like “10-4, good buddy” into the national lexicon. But the song and the CB radio craze it’d help inspire all started in an Omaha, Nebraska, office.

Estelle Harris, aka George Costanza's mother on Seinfeld, has passed away at 93.
Estelle Harris, who became one of TV’s most beloved characters as George Costanza’s perpetually nagging mother on Seinfeld, died Saturday at the age of 93. Her son, Glen Harris, confirmed the actress’ death to The Hollywood Reporter.

“It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25pm,” Glen said in a statement. “Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy and love were practically unrivaled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”

Although she only appeared in under 30 episodes between 1992 and 1998, Harris’ melodramatic portrayal of George’s mom, Estelle Costanza, became an instant fan favorite character, with her exaggerated mannerisms and constant bickering with George and husband Frank a favorite part of the show. Later in her career, she became an in-demand voice actor, portraying Mrs. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise alongside vocal roles in Tarzan II, The Family Guy and Kim Possible. Her final film role came in 2019 with Toy Story 4.

Softball loses a legend in Joan Joyce

Florida Atlantic University coach, softball legend and sports pioneer Joan Joyce passed away over the weekend. Joyce, who won her 1,000th game as a coach on March 18, was 81.

To understand Joyce’s story is to understand the history of women’s sports in this country. She was already a legend when Title IX passed in 1972 — more than a decade after she struck out Ted Williams in an exhibition softball game. She was already a professional athlete and a women’s sports legend by the time the NCAA finally and belatedly followed through on the promise of Title IX and brought women’s college sports under its umbrella in 1982.

June Brown, best know for her role as Dot Cotton on BBC's East Enders, has died at age 95.
Actress June Brown, who played the much-loved character Dot Cotton on EastEnders for more than three decades, has died at the age of 95.

Dot Cotton was one of the BBC soap's longest-running characters and a favourite with viewers.

Brown first appeared in the series in 1985, the year EastEnders was created.

She stayed until 1993, returning to play the same character from 1997 until 2020.
https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-60984231
Most people won't recognize her name, character, or TV show but as someone who watched the show in the 80s her character was someone you could believe was real. Her character, Dot Cotton, was a chain smoking, devout Christian, gossip who worked at the local laundromat and was quite opinionated. Although not a star of the show, she provided the much needed fill-in which helped tie the other characters story lines together.

Funk Brothers guitarist Joe Messina, part of the cornerstone of Motown sound, dies at 93
With the Funk Brothers from the late ’50s through the early ‘70s, Messina played on a staggering array of hits, part of a guitar attack alongside regulars Robert White and Eddie Willis inside Motown’s Studio A.

Largely uncredited on those releases at the time, Messina and his fellow Funks operated in obscurity at the downstairs studio they called the Snakepit while helping to create one of the 20th century’s most formidable bodies of work.

Typically using a Fender Telecaster with a modified neck, Messina lent a brightness to the guitar-stamped backbeat of the iconic Motown sound — a skilled sight reader with a lithe, funky touch. His performances with the Funk Brothers graced hits by the Supremes, Four Tops, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and myriad others......

........Messina’s tenure with the Soupy Sales program — he was part of both the lunchtime children’s show and the late-night adult edition — grew from his time in Detroit’s jazz clubs as a young player. He was also a go-to hired hand for television commercial work prior to his Motown enlistment in the late 1950s.

......In addition to his son, Joel, Messina is survived by daughter, Janice Coppa; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. His wife, Josie Messina, died in 2009.
